I read in one thread that TurboTax for Mac does not support direct import of 1099 transactions from a brokerage company. Am I understanding this correctly? My brokerage company is TD Ameritrade. So am I only able to direct import to a Windows computer?
Secondly, one way around this might be importing from a .txf file. But I am using TurboTax Online and I read in another thread that: "Neither TurboTax Online nor TurboTax Business supports imports from the .txf file." Does this mean that, if I'm using a Mac, I cannot transfer my brokerage company's info even if I have it on my computer as a .txf file?
The reason I chose TurboTax was to benefit from the import feature. Is there no way for me to do this with my brokerage account, if I am using a Mac?

Finding other people having this issue. Anything from TurboTax super-experts yet?

Could you please address my question. I am reading comments by TurboTax employees on some of the threads here in the Community Forum that it is not possible to do a direct import of Schedule D data from one's broker if one is using a Mac. Can you confirm please if this is the case? That is the question I was asking.
I don't need to be pointed to generic answers in the Forum. I've already spent an enormous amount of time reading all over the Forum, and that is where I have come across multiple explanations by TurboTax that direct imports are not possible for Mac users.
I simply wanted to double check this. Please give me a straight and honest answer.
Can you please clarify are you importing stock sales or cryptocurrency transactions?
I am referring to stock sales. Thanks.
Yes you can import using a Mac.
If you are having difficulty doing so, please contact us by phone so we can take a deeper look into this.
Thank you for this response. Why is it that there are several places in this Forum where TurboTax seems to state that TurboTax for Mac does not support direct import? Is that regarding direct import of 1099 data from one's broker or is it the .txf file import that doesn't work or both or neither?
Also, I did call customer service on Friday. When they couldn't solve my problem, they sent me to the resolution desk and then I was given a supervisor on that desk. The answer I was finally given was that direct import is not possible.
So I don't know what to believe.
Similar issue importing files from Schwab. Turbo tax asks if you want to link future accounts. I checked the box and the transfer failed . Next time I did NOT check the box Transer was successful!
