How do I include interest on US savings bonds I sold last year?

In addition to the above correct answer, here is how you enter savings bond interest into TurboTax:

You should receive a 1099-INT from your bank for interest earned on your savings bonds

To enter interest income:

  • Type in 1099-int in the search box, top right of your screen, then click the magnifying glass

  • Click the jump to 1099-int link in the search results.

  • Follow the onscreen instructions to enter

Arrive at the Let's get your 1099-INT or brokerage statement details page

Check the box My form has info in more than just box 1 (this is uncommon)

Enter savings bond interest in box #3 Saving Bonds and treasury int


How do I include interest on US savings bonds I sold last year?

Income received from interest is entered in part 1  line 1 on schedule B 1040 or 1040A  with the name of the source of the income and the  dollar amount.
