Thank you for your response I appreciate it. This question is more specifically in relation to me owning a business and me renting my home for some sales meetings due to social distancing. Any help would be much appreciated.
I'm not sure I understand your question/situation.
"owning a business and me renting my home" ??
I have a 1099 misc box 1. Filled.
Other boxes are zero blank. I rented out my place for 1 day only .I added a 1099 misc. Put the tax payers name, address, federal ID number.
Where on the software do I put '14 day rule? I don't see a box as description to enter 14 day rent rule. I did put in a neg. Number in box 1.where else , other box field can I input this 14 day rent rule??label? This is LA County.
From turbotax
Type '14 day rent rule' as a description and enter the amount.
Then repeat the steps above and enter the amount as a negative number.
Any other written examples u can post would be helpful.

In situations of this type, you are correct in that TurboTax recommends reporting the rental income as other income. To enter other income in TurboTax online, click on Wages & Income, scroll down the page to Less common income, click on the drop-down arrow and select Miscellaneous Income. From the list select Other reportable income and respond to the questions on the screens that follow. Enter the amount on the 1099-MISC as a positive number.
After entering the amount on the 1099-MISC as a positive number, then repeat the above steps and enter the same amount as a negative number. These entries will offset.
