I received a 1098 from my coop - i already have a 1098 from the mortgage from my primary residence. I have a 1098 from the mortgage on the coop (it's a 2nd home not rental home). Can I also deduct the 1098 interest from the coop corporation?

Yes, you can deduct the mortgage interest and property taxes paid on the coop as your second home.

To enter mortgage interest in the TurboTax online program:

  • After sign into your account, select Pick up where you left off
  • At the right upper corner, in the search box , type in 1098, and Enter
  • Select  Jump to 1098
  • On the next screen, Did you pay any home loans in 2019?, answer Yes- continue to enter your information
  • After you finish entering your mortgage interest information, you will be brought back to screen Your Tax Breaks.
  • Scroll down to Your Home / Property (Real Estate) Taxes to enter information if applies.
