I have a 1099-MISC. It keeps coming up a "rental" but mine is a non-employee compensation. How do I fix this?

Are you entering in the information from the 1099-MISC in the Box 1 entry of TurboTax? This is labeled "Rents". If you have other income to report, it would typically be in Box 3.
You could alternatively skip the 1099-MISC input, and enter the information into the self-employment section directly- here are the steps:
- Navigate to Federal > Wages & Income > Self-employment income and expenses > Add/Edit
- Edit your business
- Scroll to Income, then select Add income for this work
- Choose 1099-MISC as the type of income and answer the interview questions that follow.
