If I had a large number of stock transactions in a foreign investment account, is there a way to import them because entering them one by one will not be practical. the foreign brokerage obviously does not provide 1099, but i believe i can export the transactions as pdf or cvs from the foreign brokerage account.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You can try, but I can't guarantee it will appear in an acceptable format. If not, you can summarize the transactions.
Once finished, you may efile your return, but you will need to mail your information along with a 8453. which TurboTax will generate for you. Since you won't have a 1099B to mail in with the 8453, mail in a statement you received from your foreign broker that list all the transactions. If you don't have a 1099 B or statement, you may need to enter each transaction individually if the import is unsuccessful.
