Even worse. I downloaded and applied the manual update as suggested, and restarted TurboTax. Now after picking Fidelity and hitting continue, I get: "This import was unsuccessful" (I don't even get to the browser window to enter my credentials). My internet connections is fine. The reported version of TT is 022.00.0366.
Note: I tried uninstalling and reinstalling TT, and did not apply the manual update. I'm still getting "import unsuccessful". Very frustrating - TT 2021 on same machine, connection, etc. worked just fine last year.
@DanHM maybe try what I did - switch into Forms level and then delete any 1099s that TurboTax automatically imported from prior years. (At least, it had imported them for me. It seems to pull in the prior ones in the belief that you might have income from the same sources in the current year.) I don't know if that is what helped me, or if it was the update.
i also have the same problem cant import anything from. I tried cointracker, robinhood, fidlity nothing got all error.
You may need to check your brokerage to see if they are allowing third-party access. Although the following Help Article is for Schwab, it is possible that your brokerage has restricted TurboTax's access to your statements unless you grant consent, and you might need to do something similar to what is described below:
I have problem importing from TD Ameritrade ~ 2/5/2023, TurboTax said "This import was unsuccessful". I was using Chrome for login to TD Ameritrade. Called TD Ameritrade and they said that many of their customers have the same problem, that they are aware of this issue, and have suggested that I check back later for a solution. I looked at my TD Amertrade user profile and didn't see any suggested "Schwab" like switch to enable import. May be the problem is at the TurboTax end since so many stock brokerage users reported this simlar import problem. Cross platform data import quality assurance seems to be lacking. TurboTax, please fix! Please.
Here's the TurboTax error message...
importing from TD Ameritrade working now this morning (2/7/2023). importing from Fidelity (login name & password) also working this morning and now said to be waiting for data. Thanks for fixing this import issue. 🙂
Same is happening for me but with the online version so I can't "update" it.
Current situation, with latest updates: I tried removing the old Dividend and Interest entries. The import claims to succeed, but the forms do not appear. Note that the TT page from which I launch the import (has Fidelity logo, and "Continue" and "Skip Import" buttons) does not change when the import supposedly completes. So I have the option of hitting the Continue button and re-importing, or hitting the "Skip Import" button. Very frustrating.
I was having this EXACT same situation on MULTIPLE attempts. The issue I found was that TT didn't like me using Brave browser (a Chrome based browser). I set my default browser to Microsoft Edge, retried and everything downloaded properly. Once I ok'd which downloaded info to import I saved the TT file, quit TT and reset my default browser back to Brave. Success!!!
For me, even when switching to Edge I cannot import from Fidelity. I was able to get some late January but now I just see the import unsuccessful banner. I can't even get forms that were available in January under my wife's account. TT is broken!
Same, I get
After it opens the browser it says Success! We got your tax data. You can now return to Turbo Tax but in turbo tax it says the 1099-B import was unsuccessful fidelity. It would take me forever to enter this manually since there are 214 Pages of data.
That is exactly what I get. Supposedly success in getting tax data but TT says unsuccessful.
This also fixed my problem. I just turned off the shields on brave when the window opened, then it worked just fine.
