Nope. All extensions and pop up blocker turned off, and still getting the error message. And I had downloaded a fresh copy of Edge. Don't know what you all did to the import this year, but it's clear many folks are having issues we never had in the past.
Tried it all, no luck. Thanks though....
Have spoken with three different people several times and have gotten no help. The last gentleman suggested I file for a refund!
Please review the proposed solution regarding screen resolution in this thread.
I'm not having a problem signing onto either turbotax or Fidelity. After the I sign on, the screen shows a gif as if the data was being transferred but nothing does.
Regarding the answer above about changing the screen resolution and that fixing the problem: yeah, ahh no. I tried all 13 resolutions on my computer and nothing worked. This is ridiculous. When are you going to fix this TurboTax!?!
FYI folks the import from TT worked fine for my 2 kids taxes - smaller number of transactions than mine.
So it looks like TT is choking on the volume since it errors out on my return with more accounts & transactions. Even though I'm nowhere near the 10,000 line limit, it can't handle it. Sigh.................. TT needs to fix eventually but I'll just type in the summary manual data this weekend, not gonna wait around for a fix.
Nope.......... tried that.
KO too. far from 10k limit but still stupid msg with article about 10k transactions...
I filed for a refund for TurboTax Premier CD twice w attached receipt, received refund request number twice and both denied lol. So I called got a work number so I could get a refund, call got cut off and never got an email w the work number- I wrote it down but not much use if it’s not in the system. This just keeps getting better. I truly am sad for Intuit. Used TT for 10 years and their office software Quickbooks for bill payable and quarterly taxes for numerous years. I brought the package and CD back to Costco today so I am officially done with this. Sincere wishes that TT fixes this and that others find resolutions. My heart goes out to the last minute Annie’s that will get quite a surprise if the import is not fixed by then.
So I am using the CD disk version of Home and Business. Finally got TT rep on phone line and while she was very nice and polite, she had no final solution. What she did though was have me download the free version of TT online and with that I was able to import my Fidelity stuff. The problem though is I have two home businesses that I need to file with so I need the Home and Business version. I asked if I could have that for free since I had already paid for the CD version and she said she was not authorized to do that. Before I head down the path of double paying and buying the online version of home and business hoping that will solve my problem, is anyone here having these fidelity problems that purchased the online version of TT? Or are all of us with problems using the desktop version downloaded from the CD? I know TT should be answering this, but at this point I have just about lost all confidence in them.
My issue ("import succeeded" message given but the forms do not appear) occurred with TT Deluxe purchased and downloaded from Amazon. There were about 5 forms, none of which were created. In theory CD vs. digital download should be the same since they (should) get patched to the same state when you launch the program.
(This was intended as a reply to @garykrenek .)
Maybe this is a dumb question, but does that free version allow you to save the .tax file to hard drive?
If yes, then after using it to import the data, save the file, then open it from your Home and Business version and carry on from there.
Would that work?
I got lucky - my original post was very early in this long thread, and got the import to work for me after I made one or two small adjustments. I don't even remember what they were. But it has been astounding to see this problem continue for weeks upon weeks with no significant help from Intuit or Fidelity, both of whom should be huddling together to solve this. There's a feeling that there's a complete vacuum.
Thanks DanHM - what's worse than paying for a TT program and it not working? Paying twice (CD and Online versions) and it still not working. You have at least saved me from that.
And your right, CD vs online should be the same and not matter. But nothing about this problem makes sense (a number of people try one thing or another and suddenly it works for them, but these same solutions don't work for the rest of us. Who would have thunk that?) So for me, common sense is now out the window, I will try anything. Since tech solutions not working, moving on to magical hexes and voodoo curses.
Hello tidf2,
Interesting suggestion. Have to leave computer for a few hours, will check your proposed solution this afternoon.
