Supposedly 2/16-2/18 will be fixed per several posts.
Really disappointed with turbotax over this issue.
Is TT looking for individual forms for 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-B, and 1099-OID and cannot process the consolidated forms? These forms for non-Morgan Stanley Private Bank customers are components of Consolidated 1099 forms. All of my forms are in my Consolidated 1099 forms. Seems like TT cannot process the 1099-Consolidated forms from E*Trade. Hopefully TT and E*Trade will call each other to figure this out.
Something new has popped up. Thankfully TT knows there's a problem now.
The 1099 import service for E*TRADE is currently unavailable. Please try your import after 6PM PT.
Add me to the list of etrade users that is bring told my tax forms are not available. Hopefully this get resolved by the end of the week.
Well the error message has changed to :
"This import was unsuccessful.
There isn't any tax-related info to import right now...."
previous error:
"1099 forms not available for user"
They've done something, But this still doesn't help me.
Come on, let's get this fixed.
+1 to all of the other people having the same issue. I was expecting everything to be importable on the 15th and then I got the email on 2/9 saying forms were available which was a pleasant surprise. Every day since then has been some different kind of error (mentioned by others here) and still not working. Honestly wish I'd never gotten that email as it's just been more frustrating play the day-by-day "what-if" game. Here's hoping that it's fixed tmrw on the 16th as others have alluded to.
It is so frustrating. The forms are available but TurboTax is not able to import it says nothing to import. I tried Etrade and merril edge both failed!!!
All documents are in Etrade but am unable to import those to TurboTax.
Still not working. It’s Feb 15
Surely, there's more people looking into this. How is it that I am able to import robinhood, wealthfront and vanguard but fail to import eTrade. This is frustrating given how many times I get asked to upgrade my account when basic imports aren't functioning. The prompt earlier in the day said "The 1099 import service for E*TRADE is currently unavailable. Please try your import after 6PM PT."
Check at 6:20 and it's still broken with the first message "If you believe this is in error, contact your financial institution. You can also enter your info a different way. (907)"
😠
Im getting the same thing. This is really annoying. I do not want to do this manually!!
Its 920 NY time. Same crap. Why....why..why?????
Monique, I read the article but was not thrilled with its contents. I also have been using TT and Etrade for many years and have never had this problem. In the past, when the 1099 Consolidated was available on line for download, I was able to download with TT. One of the changes that may be impacting this is that Etrade is now a Morgan Stanley company. I have noticed a number of small changes since they bought Etrade. This may also be one of those changes. It is troublesome for me as I am required to file a paper return and the longer it takes me to file, the much longer I have to wait for my return.
Same issue here. I see on Etrade technical support that you can download, save the file, and then upload to TT. The problem for me now is I do not see how to upload a file. Guess I'll try again to tomo
