I have 1 noncovered transaction in form 1099-B ("date acquired" and "cost basis" boxes are blank). It was from a sale of the same stock with both short term and long term holding period.
I do have a separate long list from the broker with "date acquired" and "cost basis".
Could I just manually split this transaction into 2, one for short term and one for long term, and manually enter into TurboTax?
Thanks
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Not only can you, but you should split the transaction up in to long term and short term. As you mentioned, just manually split the transaction and report one long term and one short term.
