Cost basis adjustment for Wash Sales dealing with options...
I've seen numerous questions and great info on these boards in regards to Wash Sales. My scenario is this (and it's for a few option positions). From my understanding the loss from a wash sale is added to the cost basis of the identical position that was purchased. With that said, 2 questions.
1. Has anyone had that experience with their broker adjusting the cost basis on a corrected 1099?
2. The more complicated question, in the scenario below would that Wash Sale be added to the cost basis of any of the positions which proceeded it?
Thanks!
AMZN 2700 Calls
Purchased 1 Call on 2/11/2020 for $800 Sold on 3/26/2020 for $60; -$740 Wash Sale
Purchased 1 Call on 2/24/2020 for $170 Sold on 3/26/2020 for $60; -$110
Purchased 1 Call on 2/25/2020 for $100 Sold on 3/26/2020 for $60; -$40
Purchased 1 Call on 2/28/2020 for $800 Sold on 4/15/2020 for $50; -$750
Can the -$740 wash sale (or deferred loss) be added arbitrarily to any of the 3 positions which followed?

if you have several sales that are a wash but your triggering transaction was for more shares than the first lot that is a wash you must disallow the next lot in time order starting with the earliest until the triggering shares are all assigned or all the wash shares are disallowed..
