My mother had only personal property. She did not own any real estate or anything of great value. She lived on Social Security and a VA widow's pension. I could not compensated from the estate since there is nothing to paid with. I have considerable travel expenses because she lived in another state. Can I deduct those expenses from my own tax liability? Thanks.

First, I would like to express my condolences on the passing of your mother.
No, unfortunately, you cannot deduct executor expenses from your tax liability, the IRS considers this a "personal" expense.
