Amending a return to decrease the rental income
I am amending a return. The rental income was entered incorrectly and needs to be decreased. How do I decrease the rental income? Tried decreasing it but turbotax decreases the refund substantially. It should go the other way...

Amending a return to decrease the rental income
When amending a tax return, the refund meter in the upper left hand corner of the screen is set to zero.
In TurboTax Premium Online, correct or edit rental activity income by following these steps:
- Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
- Down the left side of the screen, click on Wages & income.
- Click to the right of Rentals, Royalties, and Farm.
- Click to the right of Rental Properties and Royalties.
- At the screen Your 2024 rentals and royalties summary, click the pencil icon to the right.
- Click the pencil icon to the right of Income.
- Adjust the income entry.
