turbotax Premier won't accept the date I've entered on line 20 of Schedule E. The format I've used is the same as the example. I can't find any criteria for the date in the IRS instructions. It is the date on which a depreciable asset in a rental property was taken out of service (disposed).

Is it a 2019 date? You can't use a date from another year.
The date is 10/01/2019. The form asks for a 2019 date.
Can you confirm that you’re referring to line 20 of Form 1040’s Schedule E?
The schedule’s description for the line is “Total expenses. Add lines 5 through 19.”
As noted above, line 20 of Form 1040’s Schedule E is an amount field, not a date field.
