Returns Rejected - 2018 AGI incorrect

I have reentered the 2018 AGI from my 2018 tax return.  I have resent my returns several times.  They keep getting rejected because of the 2018 AGI.  What do I do now?

If the IRS rejected your return because they stated you submitted an incorrect AGI and you are sure you entered a correct one we suggest that you check with the IRS to make sure that the copy of your return is the same as what they have in their records. Sometimes the IRS makes adjustments to tax returns. To do this, you can order a tax return transcript.   Please see this TurboTax FAQ for more information: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/rejections/help/what-if-i-entered-the-correct-agi-and-i-m-still-getting-an-e-file-reject/00/27031

The IRS just started opening the mail in June that's been stacking up. So you have to keep waiting.

See this IRS page for the latest information

Sorry you have to keep waiting for federal.  The IRS has limited staff because of Covid-19 and has not been opening the mail.  See my post above.

The 2019 AGI is found on your 2019 Federal tax return Form 1040 Line 8b

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on View adjusted gross income (AGI)

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

Or go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

For a fee of $43 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

Try entering 0 for the AGI.  The IRS took a long time to process returns last year so the AGI didn't get entered in time.

I had to amend my 2019 return so submitted the amended AGI for my 2020 return and was rejected.  I then tried using zero (which has been suggested as a resolution) and was rejected again.  I finally submitted my original AGI for 2019 and was accepted.  I'm finding it interesting that, if the IRS adjusts a return, they want the amended AGI but not if the taxpayer amends the return.

Were you able to figure out which amount to use? line 11a or 11b?
