I sent my federal tax return efile yesterday. I received the following errors below. I reviewed the form 5695 and I am seeing that I have entered all the information correctly, in the correct format, capitalizations, and amounts. I deleted and re-entered the data as well. I send a second efile and received the same error.

I did confirm the QMID on the federal site, and I also confirm the format of the QMID was enter correctly. Please advise. Thank you.

    What happenedTo update your return
F5695-075 - If Form 5695, [ 'CostAmt' in 'MostExpnsExtrWndwSkyltGrp' from 'ExtrWndwSkyltEgyStarRqrGrp' from 'EgyEffcntHmImprvCrGrp' ] has a non-zero value, then [ 'QMID' in 'MostExpnsExtrWndwSkyltGrp' from 'ExtrWndwSkyltEgyStarRqrGrp' from 'EgyEffcntHmImprvCrGrp' ] must be present unless a binary attachment or [GeneralDependencySmall] with description beginning with "Substantiate QMID" is present in the return.
F5695-069 - If Form 5695, [ 'MostExpnsExtrDoorCostAmt' in 'ExteriorDoorEgyStarRqrGrp' from 'EgyEffcntHmImprvCrGrp' ] has a non-zero value, then [ 'MostExpnsExtrDoorQMID' in 'ExteriorDoorEgyStarRqrGrp' from 'EgyEffcntHmImprvCrGrp' ] must be present unless a binary attachment or [GeneralDependencySmall] with description beginning with "Substantiate QMID" is present in the return.

You'll need to describe the log-in problem.   Is it unable to recognize your User ID or password?  If so, we can tell you about the Account Recovery tool.

As for "what's happening with my return", we won't know what that means.   If you explain it (don't post any personal info in this public forum), someone may be able to comment.   And please clarify if your question is about your "return" (the forms) or about a tax "refund?"

Try clearing the cookies and cache.   It handles many issues that seem nonsensical on a regular basis with online activity. Watch to be sure you are selecting 'all time' as example.  Do not use selections like 'last hour' for those browsers that give  you options.

Once this is complete open your return and try again.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop, save your return, then at the top select Online, then Check for updates.

I paid for my MO taxes through my bank, but it also took it out of my Federal refund. How can I fix this?

You cannot pay state taxes due out of a Federal refund, and TurboTax does not pay any state taxes due on behalf of a filer.   If something was taken out of your Federal refund by a TurboTax partner, it is most likely the TurboTax product preparation fees or any optional add-ons, plus a $40 service fee for that option.

Or did you pay for your TurboTax product fees up front with credit/debit card?

See if you can tell what you were charged for by signing into TurboTax, and at the Tax Home scrolling down to Order Details.

Also, verify the amount of your Federal refund by looking at your Form 1040, Line 35a.

Have you received your Federal refund?   If so, in your online bank account can you tell whom it was from?  Was it directly from the IRS/US Treasury, or does it name a third-party company?  That might provide a clue.

It's too late once you hit the "Transmit" button. You'll have to wait until the return is accepted and then file an amended return.

The TurboTax Free online edition is for very simple tax returns that do not require any other form or schedule other than the Form 1040.  If your tax data requires entry on any other form or schedule then you must upgrade to the Deluxe edition or higher.

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with a lower priced edition. Click on Switch Products on the lower left side of the program screen while working on the 2025 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over

Go to this TurboTax website for the Free online edition - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/free-edition.jsp

    Hi TurboTax Support,
I submitted my 2025 federal and state tax returns through TurboTax on Saturday, Feb. 8 and both are still showing Pending.
I checked the IRS and my state tax website, and neither shows my returns received. I also see that other users are experiencing the same issue.
I need confirmation that both returns were actually submitted, and if not, I need TurboTax to resend them.
My federal return includes a balance due, and the payment is currently pending, so I want to ensure it will not be charged twice.
Please provide a confirmation number or receipt once both returns are successfully transmitted.
Thank you for your urgent assistance.
