Fed & State e-File Rejected (xml data failed schema validation)

I've tried to eFile twice and both times it's been rejected. TurboTax tells me "The XML data has failed schema validation. This return was not e-filed due to a timing issue or a processing error that has been corrected. No changes are needed ... it just needs to be e-filed again. If the reject continues you may need to print and file this return by mail."

This is really annoying. Anyway to fix it?

Finally, both Fed & State have been accepted now!! Fed confirmation cam a week ago. Called TurboTax support today, [phone number removed]. Kept telling automated voice I wanted to talk to someone. Finally got in touch with a helpful rep. Email came couple hours later confirming that State was accepted. Good luck everyone!

You've posted in a thread on a different topic.   This thread is about last month's XML validation rejection error bug.   When you post a different situation, it's less likely to be seen by someone familiar with your different topic.    Although someone may see it and respond here, you are more likely to get help if your start your own new thread on that topic.    To do that, go to the link below and click the blue "Ask a Question" button:

The subject line has limited space and is a summary for your question.    Also be sure to include your specific rejection error code.

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
    - When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
    - After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

I am having the same issue, my return continues to be rejected no matter what correction I do.  My message however, is that I have input incorrect AGI or PIN ...BULL.  went to my IRS account and extracted a download of my 2019 tax return transcript.  I am not putting in the incorrect AGI as the message indicates.  This happened to me last year and I had to paper file.  You can only imagine how long it took to have my Paper Return Transcribed into the IRS systems during 2020 COVID 19.  I had applied for a mortgage in 2020 so not having my tax data available electronically was nothing short of a train wreck.  I am now thinking that this is a TURBOTAX issue and not an IRS issue as I Input the same AGI for 2019, as the IRS has in their database.

Thanks and good luck tax payers!!!

If you mailed your 2019 return it took a long time for the IRS to get it entered.  So use 0 for the AGI to efile 2020.  You could have tried 0 last year to efile 2019.
