@BTRR    2021 software can no longer be installed, nor updated.....nor can any states be downloaded/installed.   Make sure you get 2021 PDF files from your old system  (Generate PDF files both as just the filing copy, and another with ALL the forms and worksheets) , and transfer them to the new computer.  Transfer any PDF files from older years too. _________________ Get your 2022, 2023, and 2024 years software installed on the new computer now.  The ability to install the 2022 software will drop off sometime this year.

Thank you for the prompt response.   😊   I did resubmit the second time before posting this question yesterday, and during this resubmit the TurboTax screen showed zero as the AGI I had previously submitted.  The message was (paraphrased) "the IRS has already rejected the following amount: $0."   That was odd, because I remember entering our AGI the first time I resubmitted, and my browser's autofill function confirmed this--when I hovered my cursor over the screen to change the number from zero to the actual AGI, the same number popped up as a previous entry (before I started typing).   In any case, I'll change it to zero if it's returned to me a *third* time.  Given both of my resubmissions have the same AGI, I suspect this is a distinct possibility.  I really do appreciate your response, and have another question, if you don't mind: we're now four days after the April 15 deadline, and if it's returned to me again it'll be the 21st (based on the pattern of every-three-days, so far).  Will I be penalized for late submittal?  My original filing was April 12, my first resubmittal was April 15, and the second on the 18th.   (Maybe important - I'm stationed at a US military base in Germany, and have no American phone number.  I really wish I could have asked for a callback, as is offered on this website, but the Intuit database has no provisions for non-US phone numbers.)

every time I log into where is my refund it says sorry the processing time has taken longer than expected. We understand your refund is important and then it goes on from there but the letter I got from the Irs states to reviewing some income information and other stuff and it said since I filed, I don’t have to do anything but wait if I don’t hear anything from 60 days to get a hold of them they won’t have any information until then so it’s like a waiting game.

You didn't mention the particular state, but here's some information about state refunds in general and how to check on yours.      That time frame may or may not be unusual, depending on the state.  Some states are fairly quick with refunds, while other states can take a long time processing returns--even several weeks.     Here are some things you should check:   First, you need to be sure your state return was successfully filed.   If you efiled, be sure your efiled state return was accepted.  If you used Online TurboTax, you can check by looking at the Tax Home in your Online account.   Or did you choose to file by mail instead?  TurboTax does not mail it for you.  If you chose that method, you have to print, sign, date, and mail it.   The FAQ below tells how to check on a state refund.   When you scroll down further there, you will see a link for your state to get to its refund lookup tool.   Some state revenue department websites have a FAQ section or info on their refund lookup page that tells about how long it takes in that particular state, or how long to wait before phoning them.   FAQ:  How do I track my state refund? https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...   After checking all of the above, if your processing is taking longer than the usual time frame for your state, you can phone your state department of revenue's customer service to see if they can tell you the reason for the delay.

Would it work or do i need to do the 2024 return that was never filed online?   Online TurboTax is only for 2025 returns at this point in time.   A 2024 return would have to be prepared in 2024 desktop software installed on a computer (not a tablet.)   If you have the 2024 software already installed, you can run the program updater to be sure it's up to date, and then prepare a 2024 return on your computer.   It cannot be efiled with TurboTax.  It would have to be printed, signed, dated, and mailed.   It is recommended to mail by a method that has tracking.
