If you own a home and you have paid your property taxes. The property taxes will be under the Provincial Tax Credits section. Once you are entered into that section, you will see the payments related to your Principal Residence, where you can particularly edit your property tax amount. Or else, you are in the real estate business and want to deduct your property tax as a rental expense. Go to the Rental Properties under the Income section. After you see the rental summary, you can click on edit, and you can change your property tax amount in the T776 Rental Expense section. This is how you can edit your property tax expense.   Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
Yeah.  This didn't work for me.  I needed to switch from online to desktop to access Form 5329.   It only looked at 2024 information and not the almost complete return I did for 2025.

Very sorry for your loss.   I am confused by your post.   You say "last year's" return was not filed----do you mean you did not file a 2024 tax return?   Did your spouse pass in 2024?    If he passed in 2024, you can file a joint return for 2024----but that return must be prepared using desktop download software and has to be filed by mail.   You cannot get an extension for 2024 now.       If you mean you want an extension for 2025, you can request it online: https://turbotax.intuit.com/irs-tax-extensions/     Please post back with more information so that we can be more helpful to you.
See this for how to e-file an extension request - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/extensions/help/can-irs-extensions-be-e-filed/01/25884?search-action-id=618206905798&search-result-uid=25884
Can I do it directly on the IRS site even if I'm getting a refund so no payment is due? I guess I could pay another $1 just to get the extension on file.
It asked for a RMD which I took out. Did donate some portion to charity. Calculating that I owe $33,000 more - just bad software. Can't see where the calculation is coming from
The field is MM/DD/YYYY - that is, four digits for the year.

@bpan , this question is really effective only for  Earned Income Credit.  So it probably does not matter. Are you a US person ( citizen/GreenCard ) ?  If yes , then whether you are  in the USA or away , unless you establish a foreign  tax-home , your  home remains in the USA.   You still generally have to file a return and or world income.   Is there more one of us can do for you ?

For a particular IRA, I missed making my 2025 RMD. I realize it's too late to correct that. However, I am wondering if the IRS considers the total of all RMDs I made in 2025? Here's why I'm asking. For another IRA, my distributions exceeded the 2025 RMD (for that specific IRA). Could that be considered an offset for my missed 2025 RMD on the first IRA?

Online is only good for 1 return per account.  Don’t use your account or you will overwrite your return and it will be gone.  And you have to pay for each account separately so it might get expensive.  Maybe some can use the Free Edition.   You can start another return in TurboTax Online by: Logging out if you are in your account Choose what TurboTax Online product you want to use for the second return Create your account screen Set up a new login for the second return Start working on the new return

You can enter 000 000 000 as their SIN number. Enter your spouse's net income from whatever country they are a resident of, but in Canadian dollars.
The estimated payments are optional to pay.   You can ignore them.  Just be careful if you owe too much when you file your tax return you can pay a penalty.

As you know, Michigan and Ohio are reciprocal states. This means, as the state of Michigan says (see Example 4) that "The wages of a MI resident earned in Ohio remain subject to MI tax."   Are the wages earned in Ohio and the tax withholdings from Ohio being reported on your Michigan return? Since the wages earned in Ohio by a Michigan resident are taxable only in Michigan, I would not expect that the payments would appear on the Ohio Tax Payment worksheet.
Thanks! I did exactly the same on those steps, but still got the message. I sent a diagnostic file following the instruction and the Token number is 1353063.
