When the software asks if you have a lump sum payment say yes.  The program will help to determine if is better for you to attribute the sum to 2024 or to 2025, based on your AGI for each of those years.   This will all be done within the 2025 program; you do not amend 2024. https://www.irs.gov/faqs/social-security-income/back-payments/back-payments

Whether you owed tax due or received a refund last year is irrelevant in terms of needing your 2024 AGI.   You have an AGI either way.  It is on line 11 of your 2024 Form 1040.   Where do I find my AGI?   https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/01/25947   Your 2024 tax return shows your 2024 Adjusted Gross Income  (AGI)  If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.   Form 1040        line 11   If entering the amount from your 2024 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead.  If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.   You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:   https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2024 AGI may not be in the system.  https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1944348-how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online Note:  If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return.  You will not be able to e-file your state return.

Are you using the TurboTax Online product or the Desktop product? I just tried it with the Desktop product and I was able to change the NOL without a problem.   If you are using the Desktop product, go take a look at the Federal Carryover Worksheet (abbreviated as Carryover Wks). Do you see your NOL on line 14a? This is where the amount on line 8a on Schedule 1 (1040) comes from.

Now that 1st qtr of 2026 is over, I know the actual earnings from all sources. How do I calculate if I need to pay est taxes for 1st qtr.? What tax rate should I use for 1st qtr only? The effective tax rate from my 2025 Turbotax forms?  The vouchers that printed with 2025 Turbotax 1040 are quoting a high amount which may not apply to my 2026 1st qtr. earnings.
I am being asked for the AGI from 2025 return. I didn't get anything back, I had to pay in. How can I finish filing this year taxes without hving to find that AGI?

Thanks @MarilynG1 , unfortunately this approach is not working either, I updated Trade or business Name of both properties as LLC Name - Property name, but I am still getting the same message. I did something else to test, I removed the QBI from the property that is triggering the message and the message disappeared, then I added QBI back and left Business Name and ID blank (as there is no LLC related) and again I got the same error, the only difference is that my name appears in Trade or Business name and Trade or Business Id is empty on the screen. I believe this is TurboT defect or something like that

No.   TurboTax does not have your W-2's.   W-2's come from employers.     If your employer is partnered with TurboTax to allow the W-2 data to be imported into the software you can do that---but you need the actual W-2 so that you can enter the EIN and the amount from box 1 to import the other data from the W-2---which just saves you the little bit of keying in of the other information.   W-2's come from your employer, and they have until January 31 to issue it.  Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it. Some employers have payroll sites that will have your W-2. You might need to phone, text, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.     Every 2025 W-2 that you received must be reported on your 2025 tax return, even if they are for small amounts.  Remember that each one of those W-2’s has your Social Security number on it, and that income was reported to the IRS by the employer.  You do not want trouble with the IRS for under-reporting your income or have your refund delayed by having missing income.   ALL of your 2025 W-2’s must be entered on the SAME tax return.     Go to Federal>Wages & Income to enter a W-2. After you enter the first one, you click Add Another W-2.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-forms/get-copy-w-2/L8FTim9MO_US_en_US?uid=m68ee4os   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/import-enter-w-2/L55HzdeDr_US_en_US?uid=m68efe36

I was able to fix it by using another browser and it was accepted. But that was on March 6. It’s been well past 21 days and when I checked the status of my refund, all it says is status not available. I have never had this happen. Was it likely due to the first return that was not accepted because of this glitch?Anyone else having this issue after filing?
