TP working full time has family high deductible plan and hsa contribs in 2025. Spouse previously had Spousal hsa, account still had deductions in 2025, but spouse turned 65 in 2025 and quit contributing after 2024. Should spouses’ 8889 hsa form be deleted entirely to e-file, and just gave taxpayer’s 8889 hsa form with return be only form filed with return for 2025?

Pretty sure we haven't always had TT track these and the amount it is showing is only two or three years worth of contributions. We are both retired from our full-time jobs but have a home based business that will allow us to contribute. Our retirement income is under the max amount before it starts reducing how much you can contribute. It says I have overcontributed to my Roth only, not my husbands. It's under $1k and the penalty it is taking is around $50. I just don't know how to figure out why it is saying I overpaid and correct it so that I can contribute the max we can this year and not be penalized.

@bhatcher42069 When you started the entry in the rentals and royalties section of the program, you were specifically asked if this was a rental property or a royalty property.  You then completed the section based on what you selected.  After completing your entries you would then have to select the type of property again.   To enter rental income, expenses and rental asset depreciation - Click on Federal Taxes (Business using Home & Business) Click on Wages and Income (Business Income and Expenses using Home & Business) Click on I'll choose what I work on Scroll down to Rental Properties and Royalties On Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E) , click on the start or update button
J'ai le même problème, cependant si j'inscrit l'année 2025 au lieu de 2023 comme c'est supposé être , je peux continuer dans ma transmission a l'ARC.
What are you trying to edit? Are you using TurboTax Desktop or TurboTax Do It Yourself (Online)?

Hi TT Community,   1099-SA shows all funds as Code 1 - normal distrib.  BUT 1/2 was a transfer within bank to new HSA. Bank shows 1) I CONTRIBUTED to HSA when I did not - it is existing funds TRANSFER to new HSA. And 2) did NOT SHOW the transfer to new HSA. Or maybe this is correct way - to show nothing when it is a transfer?  I asked bank for corrected 1099-SA but have not received it.  TT Home & Business says do NOT LIST a Trustee-to-Trustee transfer ONLY A ROLLOVER. I don't know what to tell TT program to get correct info to complete form
@user17753311160 If you finish your return, and then make the change in Forms mode and then file without going through EasyStep again, does it give you an error when you try to NETFILE?

TurboTax does not have your W-2.   You have to get your W-2 from your employer.   .  Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it. Some employers have payroll sites that will have your W-2. You might need to phone, text, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.
if I install It on my daughters computer and create an account using a different email can I still file the 6th return

Unless you are claiming your granddaughter as a dependent on your own tax return, you cannot enter anything about paying her tuition on your tax return.   Gifts to family members are not deductible.     Gifts given to family members, friends or other individuals are not deductible.   Gifts received are not taxable to the person who received the gift, and are not entered on a tax return.   If your gift exceeds the yearly limit ($19,000 per individual)  imposed by the gift tax rules, then you will need to complete a Form 709 gift tax form and send it to the IRS, although it is very unlikely that you will owe any tax.   TurboTax does not support Form 709.  It is not an income tax form and would not be included as part of an income tax return.   Here is a link to the form: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f709.pdf   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/estates/the-gift-tax-made-simple/L5tGWVC8N     Here's a link for Form 709 preparation software:  https://www.puritas-springs.com/product-category/federal   Here are some useful videos on the Form:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5wJow5h-No   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Z_28sVOrTY
