If you need assistance with the amended returns you will need to seek out a local tax professional.

When using the TurboTax desktop editions there is no reason for you to be signed onto your TurboTax account after the installation of the TurboTax software.
Signing out of TurboTax has no affect on the ability to complete and file your tax return. When you are signed in none of your tax return data is sent to Intuit. Being signed out has no affect on the number of activations you are allowed to have.
Being signed in allows the the AI to assist when doing Searches. But I have found it to be mostly useless and have decided to stay signed out throughout the process to complete and file tax returns using my Premier desktop edition.

I don't know if you want to change your phone number on a tax return that is currently in preparation, or if you want to change your phone number in your Intuit Account. Here's how to change the phone number in your Intuit Account: Log in, and in the left menu column scroll way down to Intuit Account. In the account settings choose the tab Sign In & Security. You should see the phone number field to edit. Once you change the phone number, it may ask you to verify it. If it doesn't, there may be a little "unverified" tag next to it. If so, click on that tag to verify.

Some states are fairly quick with refunds, while other states can take a long time processing returns--even several weeks. Here are some things you should check: First, you need to be sure your state return was successfully filed. If you efiled, be sure your efiled state return was accepted. If you used Online TurboTax, you can check by looking at the Tax Home in your Online account. Or did you choose to file by mail instead? TurboTax does not mail it for you. If you chose that method, you have to print, sign, date, and mail it. The FAQ below tells how to check on a state refund. When you scroll down further there, you will see a link for your state to get to its refund lookup tool. I installed turbotax 2025 on my Windows 11 desktop, logged into my Intuit account, and activated it on my computer. I noticed under File>Signed In as "username" that I'm logged in on the desktop program, compared to previous years, such as 2024, where I was logged off. If I recall correctly, I was able to finish my taxes, download the appropriate state, e-file my federal taxes (I may have had to sign in at that point, but I can't remember exactly), and automatically update the program for both federal and state for turbotax 2024. I checked turbotax 2024 today and I'm currently not signed in. I want to sign out but when I click sign out, I get the warning message "Are you sure about signing out? You may have to sign-in again while using some features, so we recommend you stay signed in until you file your taxes." My questions are: 1) What are the features that require being signed in on the turbotax 2025 desktop version? 2) If I signed out, will the desktop version still allow me to do what I've always done, which is to prepare my taxes along with whatever state I need, efile federal (which I'm okay to log in as needed), update the program? 3) If I'm signed in, are my taxes and information being sent to Intuit as well as the saved tax file? 4) Could logging out mess up the activation and require a new activation on this same computer and take up one of the 5 allotted activations? Thank you!

@Cvam a little confusing. Where did they live in 2025? can they pass the substantial presence test? if they can't: CAN your parents claim you? If they are not US citizens and did not earn any income in the US, then they have no obligation to file a tax return and therefore cannot claim you. if they can: then maybe. it gets complicated.

@cpatikakes as long as you privided more than 50% of her financial support and she earned less than $5200, you can claim her. There is no residency test for a Qualified Relative. so it doesn't matter if she lived with you at all. I assume she was over 18 years old as of 12/31/25 and was not in school in 2025.
