You may need to contact the administrator who sent you the 1099-R.   One purpose of box 5 is to report distributions for dollars for insurance premiums paid by the plan administrator (in which case, there should be an entry on box 1), so a corrected 1099-R may be in order. Or if box 5 has "employee contributions", then this number was probably auto-printed on every 1099-R, even if there were no distributions, in which case, as the others said, if this is what the plan administrator intended, you can just dispose of the 1099-R.   I am just concerned that this might be a 1099-R that was printed in error, so a call to the plan administrator would make you feel better about trashing that document.
You are missing nothing.  New Jersey follows the federal rules on rental expenses.  So it needs to match your federal return.  So you have to pick one or the other and go with it.

In the royalty section, you can have as many royalty properties as you own. Give each one a unique name. Sch E holds 3 properties. Maybe  you have more than 3 properties and it is simply letting you know there will be another page. Your information is limited so I can't tell if the properties have different key qualities where it seems the program is looking for a little more. Double check: When entering the 1099-MISC, be sure each form links to the correct Sch E for that property with unique name. Watch the type of income entered is box 2. Depletion allowance should show in the expenses.

If that's the case here is what I find:   In both TurboTax Online and TurboTax Desktop for a given tax year (TY 2025 currently): The “2026 estimated tax” calculations live in the 2025 product and are based primarily on your 2025 tax, credits, and withholding. When the interview asks for 2026 expected withholding, income, etc., those inputs are: Used in certain what‑if (e.g., suggested quarterly payment amounts), But the core worksheet logic still typically anchors to 2025 tax liability and 2025 withholding as the baseline. The estimated‑tax module is designed around the IRS safe‑harbor rules and typical workflows. Since it is a prediction and the 2025 tax year is the base for the basic workflow, it appears the 2026 information is not moving into the actual flow to the estimated tax forms. Although it does help you to know what amount you should consider in paying for estimated quarterly payments. In your situation, you are going in a reduced income situation which is not being accounted for.    For this reason you will need to make the adjustments on your actual payments using what you know will be the case for your reduced income. I will request a possible change, and then demand will likely dictate the results. Form 1040-ES 2026

I'm using the web version. I've figured it out myself! I went back to the state form and found the section about taxes and other credits. Under that I found there was a place to say you wanted the refund used for next year's estimated taxes.  Previously I had found that for the federal form by asking a question then getting a link to the appropriate place. Unfortunately, when I asked the question for the state I didn't get an answer with a similar link. In any case, the closing dialogue on both fed and state should include the ability to apply the refund to next year's estimated since that is the "logical" place to deal with that question. For the state I got a screen that asked if I wanted TurboTax to handle the refund or is I wanted it sent to my bank via direct deposit. There was also another a place where it said to see other options. But when I opened the "other" options it just had the ability to request a paper check! Daaaa, applying the refund is "another" option and that is where it should appear! That appearance can be in addition to where they have it now.

The form is called 1099-LTC and it is reporting long-term care benefits paid. Where do I enter it in turbo tax?

I get that too.   They are reimbursing you because you pay it deducted from your Social Security checks.   It is not income.   You just can’t include the Mecicare deducted from your SS as a medical expense on Schedule A if you itemize.    So I don’t enter it when I enter my SSA-1099.

Hello, I was previously on a J-1 Visa as an Au Pair for two years from 2019 - 2021. Afterwards, I returned to my country for a few years and have returned again on the J-1 Visa as an Au Pair since December 2024. Do I need to be filing as a taxable resident because I've been here in the past for over two years? Or has that time reset / does not apply to my situation? Thanks for any help you can provide,

You could report the reimbursement as "other income" on Schedule 1 line 8z with a description that you enter. Here's how to enter it in TurboTax.   Go to Federal Taxes > Wages & Income. On the screen "Your 2025 Income Summary," scroll all the way down to the last section, "Less Common Income." Click the Start or Update button for the last topic, "Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C." On the next screen, "Let's Work on Any Miscellaneous Income," scroll down and click the Start or Update button for the last topic, "Other reportable income." The next screen asks, "Any Other Taxable Income?" At the bottom left click Add. On the next screen, "Other Taxable Income," enter a short description such as "Insurance premium reimbursement" and enter the amount. Click Continue. That takes you back to the "Any Other Taxable Income?" screen. Click Continue.
