Sorry not from Excel. Doesn’t your spreadsheet have totals? You only need to enter the totals for income and each expense category. I would try using Quicken. I have an older Quicken that I can’t import but I setup my expense categories to match the Schedule C line numbers. Then I can just enter the totals from my Quicken report. It doesn’t take long just to enter the totals.

I am reporting K-1 income of $174 this year. Turbo Tax is applying $150 of passive losses from prior years against this income. However, the k-1 Smart Workbook calculation is taking $150 from each of the last four years 2020, 2021, 2022, & 2023 ($600 total) versus just using $150 from 2020). I don't believe this loss can be applied in any other situation besides K-1 related income. See below, $150 from prior years and $24 from current years for a total of $174. But you can see the reduction happening in each of the years. Note there is no QBI to offset.

Okay whatever all you guys are giving me all the information I already have and you guys keep going back to I can't find out if my kids social security numbers were using somebody else's tax return I don't care who's or I'm just trying to find out if their taxes were used at all does that make sense to any of you anyways I guess I'm just going to admin my return no harm no foul no loss but at least I'll have my answer and you're being ridiculous I mean obviously I know what I'm doing obviously because I've been doing my own taxes for 20 something years and I did them for 15 years on paper by myself and never had a problem so I'm just trying to figure out this one simple thing so that I can amend my return for 2023 that was filed in 2024 I understand the need for a form 8332 but you know what actually I've never had to turn that form in it's just always been accepted there's no reason for there to be a form 8332 if you were never married because you would have filed married filing jointly are married filing separately before that before the separation so then the government and IRS would know and have clue to and it would red flag things we were never actually married through 24 years so this is the way we've always done it this way it works out I used to do our taxes four different ways on paper to figure out how we would get the most money that's how I figured out how to do it the way we always done it anyways if she did not get any of that money she did not get her return file that way then obviously somebody needs to amend their return and if she's not going to do it which she's not going to then there's no reason why I shouldn't file for them since I had custody of them for more than half the year we all lived in the same house I was the head of household always have been how are you not in the head of household when you make $45,000 a year to $55,000 a year and your other person only makes 25,000 a year you pay all the bills they only take care of yourself you guys not read anything. Or is this all just bots too

I'm afraid that's not correct. It is not to late to file an amendment - proof being federal and other state amended returns have been accepted. NJ amended return was rejected. I got an email from intuit telling me I could update/fix it. But there is no option online for doing so. I suppose I'll have to contact support - I guess beyond this community the only option is calling them during business hours?

I'm sorry I was using speech to text for some reason it only caught 40 days but actually it is $240 days if you read the whole thing again I said I left in October right so January February March April May June July August September October dude I think that's more than half the year hello anyways I did live there with them more than half a year 10 months obviously and I have every right to claim them as we have no custody or in effect and I lived there with them and took care of them and took care of my family at that time so the money is there to be claimed by somebody and why should government just to get to keep it I have every right to that money if my ex isn't going to do it why should I not there's nothing that says I can't claim them the other two children they lived with me all four children live with me we just have always done our taxes this way because get more f****** money that way by me claiming to you and her claiming too but she for some reason thought she was going to screw me out of getting to claim any of them and tried to claim all four because she's a vindictive woman and she's been trying to hurt me since before I left I can't go into all that here but the fact is and I can't believe you people

When you go through the FILE section you will reach a payment screen where you can enter a credit or debit card to pay for using the TT software, or where you can choose to pay by having the fees deducted from your federal refund. The choice to pay from your refund will entail an extra $40 ($45 in CA) "refund processing fee."

The rule is not that "somebody" should get money by claiming a dependent. The rule is that the person with whom the dependent LIVED for at least 183 nights during the tax year is the one who can claim the dependent. And now you reveal that the children spent only about 40 nights with you. Claiming the children on a 2024 tax return has nothing to do with your living situation in 2023. You can only claim the children on a 2024 return if they lived with you for at least 183 nights in tax year 2024
Again....the IRS will not tell you if someone else used a child's SSN. There is no way for you to find out who--if anyone--claimed one of the children unless the person who claimed the child actually tells you they did so.
Try using this IRS tool to see about claiming a dependent.

Hey All, I have been using Excel for my business for YEARS! I have been manually adding everyting in to TurboTax (H&B). This year, I decided to investigate the TFX importing again. I can find TONS of sites dealing with STOCK, but that is not what I want to import! I would like to import my expenses, my product sales and that sort of stuff. I have no problem creating a "helper" page to get all of the data on one page, but I have not been able to find how to format the columns and what to put in each row so I can export it to a CSV then convert to TFX using any of the online converters. I am using a WINDOWS based PC. My Excel version it 2013 or Office 365 (depending on which computer I am working.) Can anybody provide details with possible samples?

What was rejected? Your original 2022 state return or your amended return? It is years too late to e-file any sort of 2022 return. A 2022 return can only be filed by mail. You have to print it , sign it and date it in ink, and mail it in to the state.
But....if the original was rejected, you do not "amend" it---you only use the "amend" process to make corrections to a return that was accepted and fully processed. So--it is important to know what you are saying was rejected.
No, you cannot do anything to a 2022 return using online software. If you are trying to change something on a 2022 return, that can only be done be using downloaded desktop software on a full PC or Mac.
If you are trying to amend your original 2022 return, you must have attempted to e-file it in 2023. When it was rejected, you received an email telling you why the return was rejected. No matter why it was rejected, the only way to file 2022 now is by mail.

You should read my responses before answering please I'm not trying to fix anybody else's tax return I'm trying to claim the money that is still there to claim for my children that did not get claimed on anybody's tax return I don't think so I'm asking how to find out if they put on somebody else's tax return or easily enough how to find out if they're social security numbers were used on anybody's tax return who cares if they weren't used then I'm going to go back and amend my return because I did live there more than half the year if you read my comments respectfully you would see that I moved out at the beginning of October I paid all the bills therefore my kids lived with me something like 40 days of the year that's why I claimed the two I claimed I know the laws on Hawaii and how you can claim children I've been doing this for 25 years since I have a 26 year old son who is not part of this family so I understand how and when and why you can claim somebody please respond to how I find out if they're social security numbers were used so that I can amend my return because somebody should get that money right

Does anyone know how they came up with that calculation? I understand that Line 4 you are able to specify if you want to withhold MORE taxes which doesn't apply to me. Expected tax withholding $3,698 Anticipated tax obligation* $1,913 Projected refund $1,785 IRS tool telling me to input $4834 on line 3
