You generally cannot claim an additional $1,900 difference for your car donation. When you donate your vehicle and claim a value of more than $500, your tax deduction is generally limited to the gross proceeds from its sale by the charitable organization.   However, there is a rule that applies to your situation. If a charity sells a donated vehicle for $500 or less, your deduction is equal to the lesser of $500, or the vehicle's Fair Market Value (FMV). Since your vehicle's FMV was $2,400, you are allowed to take the $500 deduction.   You can only claim the full FMV if one of these exceptions applied:   The charity kept the car and used it regularly The charity made major repairs to the car The charity sold or gave the car to a needy individual at a significant discount price as part of their charitable purpose

You cannot use the TurboTax Free Edition if you have Form 1095-A for Marketplace insurance.    Receiving a 1095-A requires filing Form 8962 to reconcile premium tax credits, which is not supported in the Free Edition. You will be required to upgrade to at least the Deluxe version to report this information. You will be able to enter Social Security income there as well.   To upgrade your TurboTax Online product:   Make sure you're signed into TurboTax and have opened your return. If you haven't already, complete the intro questions until the menu appears. Select Upgrade from the menu (left side). Select the Do it yourself or Real experts help or do it for you tabs to see your options. See this help article for more information.   If you have followed all of the steps and are still having trouble, see this help article and this one for instructions on how to contact TurboTax customer support depending on which product you are using.   See this help article for instructions to enter Form 1095-A.   Roughly 37% of taxpayers are eligible for TurboTax Free Edition. Simple Form 1040 returns only (no schedules except for Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Student Loan Interest, and Schedule 1-A).  See this help article for more information about upgrading from Free Edition.

You can change the email address associated with your account through your account settings.   Intuit uses a single sign in system for all Intuit products, so changing it here will also update it for any other Intuit products you use, such as QuickBooks or Credit Karma.   To Change Your Email Address: Select Intuit Account located in the lower-left corner of your screen (near the Sign Out button). On the Account Manager page, select the Sign in & security menu. Select the Email address section. Enter your new email address and then enter it again to confirm. Enter your current password when prompted to verify the change. Select Save. Check your new email inbox for a verification link from Intuit and click it to finalize the update. If you can't sign in at all, you can go to the Intuit Account Recovery page. This requires you to upload a photo of a government-issued ID to verify your identity.

Have you looked at your Form 1040 to see if the income is duplicated on your actual tax return? Farming income is reported on Schedule 1 Line 5, and includes Farm Rental Income.   To preview Form 1040, including Schedule 1, open your return and go to Tax Tools in the left column. Choose Tools then View Tax Summary. When that popup appears, choose Preview my 1040 in the left column. Scroll down to see Schedule 1.   If you have paid for TurboTax, you can preview all the forms in your return, including Schedule E, which is where Form 4835 and Schedule F are combined on Line 41. Follow the instructions here: Can I print a copy of my TurboTax Online return before I file it?   Sometimes the summary pages of TurboTax are not the same as the actual entries for the listed topics. It's also possible this is browser-related. Please log out of TurboTax Online, refresh your browser, and clear your cookies and cache. Then restart your browser and log into TurboTax again. Or try a different browser.    For more help, please see:  How do I delete cookies? How to clear your cache
No. The duplicate return will create confusion and may delay a refund or raise questions about a fraudulent return.

Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about your payment.   If you want to check the debit date you specified, look on the filing instructions for your return.  It will tell you the debit date the IRS or State will deduct the payment.  If you did not print them out you can view them using the following steps:    If you filed using TurboTax Online, the Electronic Filing Instructions page will give that info.   Here's how to view the PDF copy: Sign in to TurboTax and open your return. On the Tax Home screen, scroll to Your tax returns & documents and select Add a State (don't worry, you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you into the right area) to access your tax forms and worksheets. In the menu, select Tax Tools, then Print Center. On the TurboTax Print Center screen, select Print, save or preview this year’s return. On the next TurboTax Print Center screen, select 2025 Federal return and Include government and TurboTax worksheets, then select View or print forms. The information will be on the first page, Electronic Filing Instructions, for your 2025 Federal Tax Return, next to Balance Due/Refund. TurboTax CD/Download  Go into Forms Mode by clicking on the Forms icon in the top right of the blue bar.   In the Forms in My Return list on the left, click Filing Inst.  [It's usually toward the bottom of the list.]  The form will appear on the right side of the screen. You can view the form on the screen or you can print a copy by clicking the Print box at the bottom of the screen. To return to the interview, click on the Step-By-Step icon in the top right of the blue bar.   The IRS/States is currently processing a high volume of e-filed returns, so it can take several days for your payments to go through.  The IRS/States may debit the payment after the deadline. Also, it can take the banks another few days to post the debit to your account. As long as you filed you return or extension on or before April 15, 2026, and you selected April 15, 2026, or earlier as your payment date, you won't get penalized for late payment. If you don't see the debit in your bank account 7–10 days after their return has been accepted,  call the IRS e-file Payment Services at 888-353-4537 or contact your state tax agency.   How do I contact my state Department of Revenue?

Everyone's tax situation is different and the complexity of your tax situation, meaning the forms needed to file your return, determines if you qualify for the TurboTax Free Edition.   The TurboTax Free Edition is strictly limited to simple Form 1040 returns. If your return requires additional schedules to report specific types of income or to claim certain credits, the system will prompt you to upgrade to TurboTax Deluxe or higher.   Here are the most common reasons you would be required to upgrade to a paid version: Unemployment Income: If you received a 1099-G for unemployment benefits, this is no longer covered under the Free Edition for the 2025 tax year. Itemized Deductions: If you are claiming deductions for mortgage interest, property taxes, or large charitable contributions on Schedule A instead of taking the standard deduction. Investment Income: Reporting stock sales, cryptocurrency transactions, or rental property income. Self-Employment/Gig Work: If you have 1099-NEC or 1099-K income and need to deduct business expenses on Schedule C. Education Credits: Claiming the American Opportunity Tax Credit or Lifetime Learning Credit (Form 8863). To see if you have forms that are not included in the free edition: Sign in to your TurboTax Online account. Select Tax Tools from the left menu and then click Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Look for Schedules 1, 2, or 3. If any of these are present (other than for the Student Loan Interest deduction or the EITC/Child Tax Credit), an upgrade is required. If you want to start over to remove an accidental entry:  Select Tax Tools Clear and Start Over This will erase all data entered so far
