My 1099-MISC of an amount less than $100 is creating self employment tax and related questions. It is part of my consolidated 1099 from my investments. Is this right, or how do I get around it?

THIS IS THE EXACT SAME SITUATION THAT I AM IN.  MY REFUND WAS SENT BACK TO THE IRS SUPPOSEDLY ON 3/10 AND THE IRS SAYS THEY STILL HAVENT RECIEVED IT BACK YET.  I HAVE CALLED AND CALLED ALL 3 PLACES AND I STILL HAVE NOT GOT A LETTER SAYSING THEY HAVE RECIEVED THE RETURN.  ON MY TRANSCRIPT I HAVE A CODE FOR A REFUND FREEZE AND ALSO A CODE FOR A REQUEST TO REISSUE REFUND CHECK AND IT HAS BEEN THAT WAY FOR WEEKS WITH AN AS OF DATE OF 04/06.  
Would that still be the case if the income totaled $1500?

This seems to be a known problem, but it's getting close to 4/15 so hopefully there is a workaround . . .   My 2025 state estimated tax payments (and, yes, I am not including those payments made in January of 2026 for this discussion) are not being included in itemized deductions (if they were, I would be using itemized instead of the standard deduction). I am using the online version of TurboTax.   Help!

Since you believe you will get a refund from North Carolina, it would be best to wait until you get the corrected W-2 to file that tax return. You can file a federal extension that is also applicable for North Carolina or complete Form D-410 for North Carolina and mail it in. You will see an option to do the federal extension online when you log into your TurboTax program.
I paid extra to have my state filed and a 5 day direct deposit for both returns.

Turbotax says all one has to do is go through the whole questionnaire process, and all will be solved. But also suggest doing a search for HSA and find ANY and all forms related to this, and if possible, manually delete any extra contribution. To me, this is  an outright flaw, and while we were able to file an amended return with IRS, we have been waiting over a year to get money back due to IRS errors, failure to address, stolen check…

As long as you meet the qualifications for this deduction, it is automatically applied to your tax return. You don't need to take any additional steps. You can see the information for the Senior Deduction reflected on Schedule 1A, Part V, Line 37 Qualifications: -Age: You must be 65 or older by the end of the tax year (e.g., born before Jan 2, 1961, for 2025 returns). -Income Limits: Your Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) must be below certain thresholds (e.g., $175k single, $250k joint for 2025), with deductions phasing out above those levels. Benefit: Up to $6,000 (single) or $12,000 (joint) Additional standard deduction to reduce taxable income.  For more information, see Deductions for Seniors.
