This may occur because Pennsylvania (PA) requires specific state-level data (Boxes 15-20) that differs from federal rules. When you import this information, it may lack these entries.
Some differences that often cause errors are:
Boxes 15-20 (State, State ID, State Wages) may be blank for Federal purposes, but Pennsylvania requires these boxes to be filled.
Pennsylvania does not allow pre-tax deductions for 401(k) plans. If your state wages (Box 16) are not higher than federal wages (Box 1) to account for this, the PA state tax return will show an error.
The employer's state EIN (Box 15) must follow Pennsylvania's specific format, which is usually 8 digits with no dashes. This may not have been imported correctly.
To fix this, try deleting your Form W-2 and re-enter it manually. Keep these differences in mind as you re-enter it.
To delete a Form W-2 if you used TurboTax Online you can:
Click on "Tax Tools" in the left panel of your TurboTax screen
Select "Tools"
Click on "Delete a Form"
Scroll down the list of your forms to find your Form W2
Click on the trash can to the right of your form to delete it
To delete a Form W-2 If you used TurboTax Desktop, you can:
Click on "Forms" in the top right of your TurboTax screen to switch to "Forms Mode"
In your left panel of your TurboTax screen find Form W-2
Click on "Delete Form" at the bottom of the form
Click on "Yes" to confirm the deletion
To get back to your W-2 screens in TurboTax you can:
Click on "Search" in the top right of your TurboTax screen.
Type "W-2" in the search bar.
Click on the link "Jump to W-2"
And select to Type it in Myself
Click here for How do I manually enter my W-2?
If you have additional information or questions regarding this, please return to Community and we would be glad to help.

Your message is wrong and misleading. All links go to the same page where it says "File a return" instead of file an extension

Q. Where and how, what is the workaround?
A. Yes, a workaround is needed.
Enter the 1099-Q. When asked who the student is answer: someone else (lying to TurboTax to get it to do what you want does not constitute lying to the IRS). Enter the student's (your) name when asked. A few screens later, you'll get one simple screen to enter expenses. Press continue at the 1099-Q summary screen. You'll get a screen titled non-dependent summary. Click on the edit (pencil) symbol. Follow the interview. At the "one simple screen", credentials expenses will not be an option. I'd use the books box for all your expenses.
You do not have to deal with the complicated “Educational expenses and Scholarships” (1098-T) section later and the current TT glitches.
TT will prepare form 5329 to report the penalty.

I finished filing my taxes on March 30th. Perhaps I was just all done messing with taxes at that point, but I didn't notice a pop-up asking for feedback. I also have not received an email asking for feedback. I did turn off marketing emails from TurboTax ages ago because they were relentless and I am not interested in other products. I utilize the online version of TurboTax. Please tell me how I can now provide feedback.

Since the business has an EIN I would include on both of your Schedules C. I'm not clear as to why you applied for an EIN. According to the IRS: Spouses electing qualified joint venture status are treated as sole proprietors for Federal tax purposes. Using the rules for sole proprietors, an EIN is not required for a sole proprietorship unless the sole proprietorship is required to file excise, employment, alcohol, tobacco, or firearms returns. If an EIN is required, the filing spouse should complete a Form SS-4 and request an EIN as a sole proprietor. I assume your husband applied for the EIN as a sole proprietor, as only businesses that are owned and operated by spouses as co-owners (and not in the name of a state law entity) qualify for the election. LLCs are not eligible for the election.

Qualifications
Colorado allows a pension/annuity subtraction for:
Taxpayers who are at least 55 years of age as of the last day of the tax year
Beneficiaries of any age (such as a widowed spouse or orphan child) who are receiving a pension or annuity because of the death of the person who earned the pension
Subtraction Amounts
Qualified taxpayers who are under age 65 as of the last day of the tax year can subtract the smaller of $20,000 or the taxable pension/annuity income included in federal taxable income.
Taxpayers who are 65 years of age or older as of the last day of the tax year can subtract the smaller of $24,000 or the taxable pension/annuity income included in federal taxable income.
Note: For taxpayers aged 65 or older, there is an exception to this limitation for tax years 2022 and later. If the taxpayer's social security benefits included in their federal taxable income exceed $24,000, they can subtract the full amount of those social security benefits on their Colorado return. For tax year 2022 there are separate lines on form DR 0104AD(opens in new window) specifically for the subtraction of social security benefits.

Thanks...Works great, except you say: "...One of the items on that list is "Taxable refunds (not included in line 4 of IT-201/IT-203)". You can enter the New York Inflation Refund amount you received and reported on the Federal return in the Federal column, and enter "0" in the New York column..." Unfortunately, on my TurboTax Home and Business, there is no NY column, so I added the $400 under: Other changes to your federal income > Enter other subtractions > Taxable refunds (Not included in line 4 of IT-201/IT-203). I assume this is the $400 that I show on IT-225 > Total Subtractions, right? Thanks for your help!!!
