If your W-2 shows "CADI" in Box 14, and you are in California, this is likely referring to "CASDI" (California State Disability Insurance). This is a state-mandated deduction for short-term disability insurance. This amount should generally be entered to ensure proper reporting, as it represents a paid tax on your wages. Contact your employer's payroll office with any questions.   The tax rate is 1.2% (increased from 1.1% in 2024). See this California EDD webpage for more information.

If you are using TurboTax Do It Yourself (Online), the software will automatically claim the disability amount transferred from your dependant on the spouse with the highest income (after deductions). Unfortunately, there is no way to change it.

If you had scholarship income above the amount of your education expenses, and entered a 1098-T reporting this, you could use the EIN from 1098-T if you get a review error for this.    If this doesn't apply and you entered the taxable scholarship income manually under Less Common Income > Miscellaneous Income 1099-A, 1099-C > Other Reportable Income > Other Taxable Income, it will be reported on Schedule 1, Line 7z and the Other Income Statement, Line 12. You're not required to have an EIN in this case, so should be able to Continue past this in Review.   @jenrydyl

Your post is pretty vague....was your own e-file rejected because you are being claimed as someone else's dependent---and you need to fix your own answer about that so you can e-file?   If that is the situation, go to MY INFO and click your own name.   Then go through the screens to the question that asks if someone else can claim you and say YES.   Try to re-file.   Or....is your problem something else?

If you used the Desktop program...... Do any of the returns have the same name initial as you or your spouse? There is a problem saving returns if 2 returns use the same initials, one will overwrite the other. So you have to be sure to save the returns with names completely different to keep them apart. Don't use the default name given by the program. Go up to File-Save As and give it a unique name. Also be careful if the second return name is the same as another return. Turbo Tax saves the tax returns as 2025 Smith J Form 1040 Individual Tax Return.tax2025. So if you have two or more returns for people that have the same last name and first initial the second return will overwrite the first one. So you have to be sure to first save the returns with names completely different to keep them apart. Don't use the default name given by the program. You need to go to FILE - SAVE AS and give the return a unique name you can tell apart. At least add the full first name. You don't have to use or accept the name Turbo Tax gives it. I save all my returns with different names.   Here is a screen shot of the Windows Desktop program.   Do you have the menu items going across the top?   You said "account" which makes me think you might be in the Online version and not the Desktop program.

If you have not yet filed your income tax return, enter the W-2C information in place of the original numbers.  Retain both copies.  See this TurboTax Help.   If you have already filed your income tax return, you will need to amend the income tax return if the differences change the refund amount or amount owed.   If you used TurboTax Online, log in to your account and select Amend a return that was filed and accepted.    If you used the CD/download product, sign back into your return and select Amend a filed return.    See also this TurboTax Help.

To verify the status of your return, log in directly to your TurboTax account. Follow these steps: How do I check my e-file status? @user17760079114 wrote: Why?.  TT has false advertising on the package for TT Premier Tax Software.  The column for "Calculates fair market value and deducts charitable donations" is boldly checked for TT Premier and not for Deluxe.  That's not false advertising because the product actually does that for Premier in the interview and probably not for Deluxe. Premier will go out and fetch the FMV of the donated items you enter and then deduct the appropriate amount automatically.
