@Robert207 you can sign up in the desktop app for email alerts from the section you're interested in.  If you see the tool for form availability above and select 1040 a lot of the forms will be available in January, a lot are slated for next week so hopefully that happens and we'll significant updates starting.   But no one here has any other dates as the tool doesn't show it by 1099 just resulting forms for filing.   If you need something so urgently for 2026 that you can't wait for these updates then use alternate s/w or online calculators like this https://www.dinkytown.net/java/1040-tax-calculator.html

Disregard - I found it! I did a google search of “How do I file my 2024 tax return with turbotax” which lead me to a generic webpage that allows users to select the tax year they wish to file - because I was still logged in to my account in a different tab, the moment I clicked on the 2024 link, it brought me to the “continue my return” in the 2024 (and more familiar) version of the online software. Whew - Crisis averted!

Or does Turbo Tax say that?  Go back though My Info and check your answers for him.  Look for the question asking that.   You may have answered it wrong or checked the wrong box.

I'm a fellow user (not a tax expert) and don't know specifically what Form 1116 data from prior years you are referring to, but if you are referring to your Foreign Tax Credit Carryover amounts for the last few years (both regular and AMT), when you go through the Foreign Taxes Credit interview, it will ask some preliminary questions about your foreign taxes, including if you want to use FTC carryover amounts from prior years, then a screen will ask if you want to take a deduction or a credit.   When you say you want a credit, it starts preparing Form 1116 in the background.  The next screen or so asks for your FTC credit amounts from the last  (up to)10 years (or fewer, if applicable) and has a table to enter them.   It should be followed by another screen with a similar-looking table asking for the AMT amounts for the (up to) past 10 years (or fewer).  In addition to the interview mode, if you're using desktop software, the 2 tables can also be accessed and direct entries made in Forms Mode by selecting 1116 Comp Wks in the left column list of forms.   Aside from FTC Carryover amounts, I'm not sure if you have other 1116 data from prior years you need to enter or not.  In any case, I'm not an expert in Form 1116, but the above is what I know about entering the past few years of FTC Carryover amounts.   If you have other specific data you need to enter from prior years on Form 1116, you'll need to ask a specific question, and hopefully, someone familiar with the foreign tax credit section can further comment.

TurboTax no longer provides or supports 2017 tax software.  Any refund for a 2017 tax return was forfeited several years ago.   If you owe tax due for 2017, it is still owed -- along with late filing penalties and interest.   If you need to file your 2017 return, you could get past year paper forms from the IRS to complete by hand to mail in or you could seek local paid tax help.     2017   https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040gi--2017.pdf https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040--2017.pdf   https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040a--2017.pdf https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040a--2017.pdf   https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040ez--2017.pdf https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040ez--2017.pdf

You cannot print until your TurboTax fees have been paid.  Pay your fees and then print , sign and date the return in ink, and mail it.   When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

Does it say that on the card itself?   If the card says "not valid for employment" you will need to ask Social Security why.

You will be able to access the 2024 return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it.   But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.       Start a 2025  return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.   Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2024  returns is now permanently closed.    Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2024 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac  (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/printers-printing/finish-prior-year-return-started-turbotax-online/L9Oe4M90A_US_en_US?uid=m68tffpe   If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.   They are available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday - Friday   https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899263-what-is-the-turbotax-phone-number     If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late.  If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe.  Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.     When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
