If you are filing as Married Filing Separately you are not eligible for the deduction.  If you are Single and your AGI is over $175,000 or Married Filing Jointly and your AGI is over $250,000 you are not eligible for the deduction.   If you are age 65 or older and meet the requirement, the additional deduction is automatically added on your federal tax return.   Standard deductions for 2025 Single - $15.750 add $2,000 if age 65 or older Married Filing Separately - $15,750 add $1,600 if age 65 or older Married Filing Jointly - $31,500 add $1,600 for each spouse age 65 or older Head of Household - $23,625 add $2,000 if age 65 or older   New Bonus Standard Deduction (OBBB): An additional $6,000 deduction for taxpayers 65 and older. Thank you for your response @MinhT1. Unfortunately, I am unable to locate step 8 mentioned in your instructions within my filing, which suggests there may be a technical issue. I also consulted with an online tax expert, but the issue could not be resolved. I am hesitant to close the application and start over from scratch.

Hi,   I followed the instructions in the TurboTax article. The Turbo Tax Online software is not prompting or asking me about the following: * When you reach the screen with the box for Deductible contributions elected non-deductible, enter an amount.   I'm receiving the following prompts: 1. Enter the total amount of contributions you put into a traditional IRA for 2025, even if you later transferred some or all of it to a Roth IRA.       a. Total 2025 traditional IRA contributions = <enter>. I entered $7000.     b. Amount of these regular contributions for 2025 you contributed between January 1, 2026 and April 15, 2026. = <enter>. I entered $7000.   2. Did you recharacterize any of the traditional IRA contributions for 2025 over to a Roth IRA contribution?     a. Yes or No. I entered No.   3. Did you contribute more money to this IRA than was allowed in 2024 or any previous year?     a. Yes or No. I entered No.   4. Did you have any nondeductible IRA contributions to your traditional IRA from 2024 or prior years?     a. Yes or No. I entered No.   I receive the following message - Your IRA Deduction Summary. Based on what you've entered you don't qualify for an IRA deduction. I do not receive - Deductible contributions elected non-deductible, enter an amount.   Please help!!!

The option to report my personal HSA contribution seems to be missing. The summary says, “You can make any changes if needed,” but there’s no edit or change button, and no field to enter the personal contributions I made in 2026 for my 2025 HSA. There is a field to enter company contributions made in 2026 for 2025, but that’s not the same as reporting my personal contribution in terms of tax.

MonikaK1 - we need the verbiage updated now for tax year 2025 filing and not wait until tax year 2026. You receiving an assurance isn't the same as the customers seeing the screen messages updated. It's too risky to click send when everything in the verbiage suggests that the full tax return is being submitted.  Please give us an exact ETA on when the language will be fixed otherwise we will be forced to take our business elsewhere.   This is not the level of service and usability I've come to expect from Intuit and Turbotax, having been a customer for more than a decade.

If your tax return was already accepted, you won't be able to file an amendment until your tax return is fully processed and you receive your refund or your balance due is deducted from your account.  Once your return is fully processed, you will have to delete the 2024 W-2 and enter the correct 2025 W-2.   Refer to the TurboTax articles: Amending Your Income Tax Return and How to Correct Federal Tax Returns for additional information.   Once you file your amendment, you can check the status of your amended tax return at Where’s My Amended Return?
