@ mrsforeman22 wrote:  Is it normal to not have an approval from the IRS the week that your refund is scheduled to be delivered via direct deposit? My taxes say accepted but not approved and the estimated date to receive my refund is in 3 days. Where are you getting a date?  If the date is from the TurboTax website, then that is only an estimate based on 21-day common processing time at the IRS.  For some people it will be sooner; for some people it will be later, depending on how much processing the IRS has to do.   Go by the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool.   What message is presented there? https://www.irs.gov/refunds   "Accepted" is an efile term which means that within 24-48 hours after efiling, your return was accepted for processing by the IRS (or state). The IRS does not use the term "accepted" in the IRS refund lookup tool.   The IRS tool has 3 stages: Return received and is being processed Refund approved Refund sent and an expected deposit date
