You don't need a 1310. If TurboTax requires a 1310 and/or you can't upload your appointment (for some reason), you should simply mail the return and a copy of the appointment.

The estate account was created using an EIN post death. So this would be a separate return using a form 1041 listing the decedent's name and mine as the executor? This is not a form I would attach to my personal return. Does this add onto my personal income and get taxed as such or is the 1099 estate income get taxed as a separate entity? Thanks bye the way.

I assume you are referring to a bud tender associated with cannabis sales. If so, the closest industry classification is Retail Trade – Cannabis Dispensary or Retail Sales – Specialty Store.
For tax or business activity descriptions, you can use something like: “Cannabis retail sales associate.”
“Mixologist” would fall under food and beverage service, which is a different industry classification than retail cannabis sales.

I file our taxes jointly. My wife has a family HSA plan covering our family. I have been employed for only part of that last tax year during which I was covered by my wife's family plan as well as an individual HSA plan. When selecting coverage, should I consider myself as covered by the family plan at all times or family plan for the months that I was not employed and self plan when I was employed (but still covered by both)?

@user17721348628 wrote: a) Can I e-file using Turbotax? b) Using Turbotax, can I direct the IRS to deposit the refund into the deceased's estate bank account? You can e-file provided you can attach a copy of your court appointment to the return and the refund can go directly to the estate's bank account (e.g. "Estate of xxxx") unless you file a 1310 (in which case you can get a refund check made payable to you).

One possibility is you took the Section 179 expense option for your asset and you had a loss on the rental so it wasn't deductible in the current year. Another option is you entered the asset for the wrong business or rental by mistake, so it is showing on another rental or business schedule.

Thank You, It's nice to know that there is a workaround but it would be much nicer if it worked properly. I don't have anywhere near as many transactions as the stated limit. My 1099 has been available for download from Schwab all week and I have a softcopy saved on my desktop. I'll wait until after Feb 27th, the original date stated by Schwab as the available date, and see if the download to Turbo Tax works. If not, I'll try the alternative "Total Proceeds and Cost Basis" and hope for the best. The object here is to avoid attention / audits and by not providing all of the required information it seems like I'm providing the IRS with a huge red flag....

You are such a dope that you simply take it for granted that T. Rowe Price will show up in the TurboTax import list. I'm not claiming that it won't, BUT a whole bunch of H&R Block users thought the same thing about Merrill, which does not appear in the H&R Block import list and may never appear for the 2025 tax year.

You're going to use "given away" as of the date that it was converted to personal use and then it will be removed from the return. You will have to add it back in for the sale.

When you're on the screen "You have a 25% penalty, but we can help you request a waiver", you can click the + Add button to request additional lines to enter your statement and you can just type a few words on each line to make it more readable.

The refund date as shown on the TurboTax website or via email is an estimate only. It is based on the IRS average of 21 days to issue a tax refund after receiving the tax return.
Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

kebell50 - What the DOR lady said makes sense to me because I'd be skeptical that any state agency would be implementing special software for a private company. What I am more hopeful about is that maybe TurboTax themselves will get their own software updated within a few days so that it complies with the Wisconsin requirements. Regards, Mike O'Brien

If you're a US resident required to file, and you have Chinese pension income, you can report it by going to Income Topics page, scroll all the way down to 'Miscellaneous Income 1099-A, 1099-C' and choose Start/Update. On the next page, scroll all the way down to 'Other Reportable Income', Start/Update. On the next page, enter a description/amount. Pension income is taxed the same as other income. If you paid taxes to China on your income, you could enter the Gross Amount and then claim a Foreign Tax Credit for the tax amount paid, or just enter the Net Amount on this page. If your pension is from China for services performed for China, it may be exempt from U.S. tax if you are not a U.S. citizen or green card holder. @Jscg [Edited 02/26/2026 | 5:50 pm]
