I received notice that a purchase of employee stock options have become worthless and are a captial loss. I did not recieve a 1099-B form. How can I report this loss in turbo tax? I am aware that this is usually done with Form 8949 but Turbo Tax says it will generate that form for me. Unfortunately the only option in the web version is to uplaod a 1099-B form.

@dhasap What product fees are you being charged for? You may be able to remove something if you haven't already paid. You may or may not be in the correct product or could have added something on. What product edition are you using (you can look in the top left corner to see.) To check your fees, go to the left menu column and click on TAX TOOLS, then TOOLS. In the TOOLS window, choose the blue button MY FEES. Or if you have a shopping cart up in the top right corner, does it display a popup with your fees?

You cannot e-file an amended Form 1065 partnership return using TurboTax Business; you must print and mail it. Although you can use the software to update forms and prepare the amended return (Form 1065-X), the final submission requires printing and mailing to the IRS.
Be sure to sign and send your amended return via certified mail with a return receipt for tracking. See Instructions for Form 1065-X on the IRS website for a mailing address and other details.

I need to file 1040X to amend 2024 Tax return. I have already filed the Tax back in February 2025 and paid the calculated penalty. I had to re enter all Tax information (W-2s, 1099, etc) into TurboTax again now since I didn't have the old 2024 TurboTax file. TurboTax is now calculating the penalty based on this year, which is more than I already paid. Do I leave the penalty as is since I already paid the correct amount in 2025 and just start with the 1040X to correct what needs to be corrected? I don't see an option in TurboTax to manually adjust the penalty (should be lower since it was already paid).

David, Thanks, Z1 isn't in the list, only Z... but the description sounded the same, so I wasn't sure. That is the route I was inclined to take. Thanks for confirming.

Yes, TurboTax recognizes California’s new rule allowing up to $20,000 of military retirement income to be excluded from CA taxable income (2025–2029) for qualifying veterans with income under the AGI limits. All you need to do is enter your 1099-R. Where do I enter a 1099-R?

@ ik1710 If you have a VPN, then you might try without the VPN if you can safely do so; i.e., on your own private network and not at a public wi-fi place. But you shouldn't be filing a tax return with public wi-fi anyway IMO. EDITED 3/16/2026 at 8:14 PM Pacific to add more info.

If you haven't already, go through and Review the entries in the Investments and Savings section that show Needs Review. If you have done that, then you may have to delete the entries that need review that you can't clear. Did you import any of your investments? Sometimes imports include data errors that can't be cleared. If you delete and import again and that doesn't clear the Needs Review then you will need to manually enter them.

I received less than $1,500.00 in Interest Income and no 1099-INT forms. Do I still need to report it on form 1040? The total is around $700.00.
