If line 4a shows $3,749 while line 4b shows $3,442, this implies that you have indicated to TurboTax that you have basis in nondeductible traditional IRA contributions and TurboTax is calculating on Form 8606 Part I that the taxable amount of your $3,749 distribution is $3,442.  This would be because your traditional IRAs consist of 91.8% pre-tax money and 8.2% after-tax money.  Both pre-tax money and after-tax money distributed from your IRA satisfy your RMD.

Did you use your HSA during 2025? If so, you should call your HSA administrator or log into your online account and see if you have tax forms.    Also, were your only contributions to the HSA done through payroll?    If you did not have out of pocket contributions and did not use your HSA in 2025, you may not get any forms and there would be nothing to report.

If this K-1 came from an estate or trust, the amount from Form 1041 Schedule K-1 Box 11 Code B refers to state and local taxes that must be manually entered on the related tax form.   Log into TurboTax and open your return. Go to Federal >> Deductions & Credits >> Estimates and Other Taxes Paid >> Other Income Taxes >> Withholding not already entered on a W-2 or 1099.  Choose a state from the State withholdings drop-down and enter the amount from Box 11 Code B.   Your entries will report the amount on Schedule A Line 5a.

That is likely not self-employment income. When you enter the form in TurboTax you need to indicate that the income was not earned with a profit motive, it was only earned in the current year and it is not associated with his main job. That way it will not be treated as self-employment income on your tax return.

When filing your 2025 tax return, the software or form is asking for your husband’s net income from his 2025 return (line 23600) to calculate specific tax credits, such as the spousal amount or GST/HST credit. If his return is not yet completed, you should use an estimate of his 2025 income, then update it with the final amount before Netfiling.   Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

As a tenant, you enter the rent that you paid in the provincial section of your return. You do not need to ask your landlord about what he pays, as this doesn't have anything to do with you. The following is the only thing you need to complete as far as claiming the rent you paid. (If you are self-employed and rent a space to work, please let us know and we will give you steps on where to claim that specific rent.)       Once you click continue, you will get to this page: Put YES if at least one of these applies to you. Answer the second question if you lived in Northern Ontario, and then continue.   These questions and the next will determine if you receive the Trillium Benefit and the GST depending on your household income.  Here, as you see, you will click on the drop-down arrow and choose RENT. Fill out this form, and you can put the name of your landlord.      We hope this helps.    Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

I AM SO SICK OF TURBOTAX. THE AI EXPERT ADVICE DOES NOT PROVIDE HELPFUL ANSWERS. TURBOTAX FORMS ARE SUGGESTING THAT I DID NOT FILE WITH TURBOTAX LAST YEAR, HOWEVER, AFTER AN HOUR OF BACK AND FORTH WITH AI AND FOLLOWING THE TIME WASTING STEPS, IT TURNS OUT THAT TURBOTAX DID HAVE MY AGI BECAUSE IT POPULATED THE ANSWER IN THE AGI QUESTION FOR ME. I CAN NOT BELIEVE I AM PAYING TURBOTAX TO WASTE MY TIME.

In order to claim the AOTC, tuition must have been paid in that year.  So, if the 2026 scholarship was credited to your account in 2026, tuition was paid in 2026. So you can claim the credit for 2026. But since the scholarship money was the only payments in 2026, you will have to declare $4000 ($2000 if you're willing to accept a $2000 credit instead of $2500) of the scholarship as taxable income.
