A properly executed Backdoor Roth IRA (non-deductible Traditional contribution + immediate conversion) should not result in taxes, provided you correctly report the transaction in TurboTax to establish a "basis." The conversion is only taxable if you have other pre-tax Traditional IRA balances or if the contribution grew before conversion (earnings).   Here's more info on How to Enter a Back-Door Roth Conversion.   @bikjen19

On your Husband’s Return: Ensure the T776 (Rental Profile) has the box checked for "I have co-owners or partners" and that the spouse’s information and 50% share are entered.   You are each responsible for your claim. You must enter the percentage of ownership according to you and your partner's portions. So if you both own the property 50/50, it should be split 50/50.    If you are a co-owner or member of a partnership: Enter your percentage of ownership in the Identification area, and complete the Details of other co-owners and partners portion, including the co-owners/partners' percentage of ownership. Enter the address and gross rental income for the entire property in the Income section. Do not split the gross income according to your ownership share. Enter the amount of deductible expenses you have as a co-owner or partner, whichever applies, that you did not deduct elsewhere on the form. Do not enter expenses if you were reimbursed for them. For more information regarding rental income, please visit this page: How do I enter my rental income and expenses in TurboTax?    Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund.    The IRS states that most federal tax refunds are issued within 21 days of acceptance, however, some may take longer if they require additional review. Also, by law, the IRS cannot issue EITC or ACTC refunds before mid-February. This applies to your entire refund, not just the portion related to those specific credits.   Here are a few FAQs to help you track your refund: When will I get my federal tax refund? How do I track my state refund? Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"? Why do some refunds take longer than others? What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?

Helpful TurboTax Articles: What if I can't import my 1099? How can I fix my 1099 import issue? How do I import my 1099s? How do I enter a large number of stock transactions in TurboTax? If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.   To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings: Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL. Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu. Toggle the switch to ON. Refresh the page and attempt your import again. What do I do when my data isn't imported into TurboTax Desktop even though it says successful import in my browser? If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play: Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements. Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back. Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser.
I contributed in Traditional IRA and then I did a backdoor Roth IRA conversion. Will I be taxed on that conversion? If so how does that work?

You may be referring to the "at risk" or "material participation" questions. If you are not at risk or materially participating in the business and you have a loss, it may not be deductible. You will find those questions when you edit your business entries.    Look for the screen that says Your (name of business) Business. Scroll down to Final Details and then Special Situations and update that option. On the next screen you will see Do you have any of these other business situations? See if the box that references having money invested in the business that you are not at risk of losing is checked. If it is and that is not true, unselect that box.   For the material participation matter, return to the screen that says  Your (name of business) Business and update your Business Profile. On the next screen that says Let's confirm your business info, see if the option that says actively participates is marked "yes" and if not, change it if you materially participate.

The IRS and state governments can intercept refunds to pay for certain past-due debts (such as back taxes, child support, or student loans).   How to check for an offset:   The IRS Hotline: Call (800) 304-3107 for automated details regarding tax offsets. Official Notice: You will typically receive a letter in the mail explaining the specific debt and the amount withheld.   If you used "Pay with Refund":    If the IRS "Where’s My Refund" tool shows your funds were released but you haven't received them, please note that Intuit does not hold these funds.
