The "Colorado Portion of Other Income" represents income from sources within Colorado that you earned while being a Texas resident (nonresident).  If you only had wages or business income from Colorado it would all be Colorado source.  Other income would include Interest, Dividends, Capital Gains, Retirement Income and many many more which is sourced to your resident state.  If TurboTax is asking for the Colorado income for Other Income, look at your income summary to see what type of income it is.  .   For more information, specify what type of income you have or see Income Tax Topics: Part-Year Residents & Nonresidents.

Was your original return filed as a joint return and your amended return filed as a separate return? If so, your amended return will be processed but it will not change the face that you were both on the original efiled return. If you are trying to file her return as separate now, it won't be able to be efiled because of that original return. The only option will be to file her return by mail.

The reason why your refund is showing $457 could be because you had a balance due to Oregon of $417 before the kicker was applied.  Once the $874 was added to the balance due, that would be a $457 refund.   You had mentioned that you share your file with an agent.  If you did that, would you please provide us with the token number that you got when you did that, so that we could take a closer look at a sanitized version of your tax return?  If you don't have the token number, you could share the file with agent agent.  Then write down the token number and send that token number back in your reply to this message.

Hi Robert: Thanks for your prompt response. I am a bit confused on the manual reporting adjustment for 1099R of missing 2025 RMD. In 2025 return, I did not take the RMD by 12/31/2025 and naturally, there was no 1099R for that 2025 RMD. Thus, I can't report that 2025 RMD on my 2025 return. In 2026 retutn, I will report both: the missing 2025 RMD taken in 3/2026 and the 2026 RMD will be taken in 12/31/2026 since the institution will issue one 1099R for both RMDs in one total under code 7 - Normal Distribution. Therefore, I will pay tax on the total RMDs in 2026, meaning only one not twice? Do I misunderstand from what you tried to explain on that manual reporting adjustment? Please elaborate. Appreciate so much.
For the institution use IRS and report the interest. No need for EIN or other input.

I went through the process, including manually reentering all the carryover info. The forms are now in the correct order. Both were named Copy 2, but I was able to rename the first one back to Copy 1.   The foreign tax credit didn't change, but I hope this makes the IRS happier.   Thanks for the help!

Please use the following instruction to enter the IP PIN. It does not change automatically from one year to the next.   A five digit PIN is one you make up to file your return - a zip code works or you can create another 5 digit number.   The drivers license data is a state requirement and not federal. TurboTax must meet e-file requirements for approval to file with both the IRS and the state.   To enter your IP PIN in TurboTax: Sign in to your TurboTax account In the Search bar type IP pin > Select the Jump to... link On the Identity Protection PIN screen, answer Yes Enter all relevant information If you no longer know your IP PIN: You can complete the Identity Theft Affidavit to begin the process to find out if a fraudulent return was filed using your name and credentials. When to file an Identity Theft Affidavit  - This link also provides the ability to file the affidavit online. The IP PIN can be retrieved using the link below when you cannot find it: Retrieve your IP Pin Please update with additional details if the answers are not yet covered here.

You enter the Form 1099-G in the Wages and Income area, then Other Common Income, then Other 1099-G income. On the screen that says What Type of payment did you receive? choose Agricultural program payment. You will then come to a screen where you can enter for Form 1099-G information. On the screen that says Report Agricultural Payments you can choose "farm" or "Farm rental" for the activity that generated the income. If it is a farm rental, TurboTax will set up a rental farm for you where you can enter the associated expenses.

The money from unemployment was entered as a 1099-G.  However, I have now resolved the issue and submitted the federal and tax returns and both were accepted. It turns out that I had a zero in the federal 1040, and the 540 was blank.  Since they did not match, they were creating an error message. I simply deleted the zero and all was good. Thx

Here's how to get all the forms, worksheets, and schedules.   TurboTax Online: Sign in to your TurboTax Account. Scroll down to the "Your tax returns & documents" section. Select the specific tax year you need (e.g., 2024). Click "Add a State" (you aren't actually adding one, but this "unlocks" the return so you can access the Print Center). In the left-hand menu, select Tax Tools > Print Center. Select Print, save or preview this year's return. The Key Step: Look for a checkbox or dropdown that says "Include government and TurboTax worksheets" or "All forms." Click View/Print to generate the full PDF, which will now include every schedule (like Schedule C, D, or E) and the internal worksheets.   TurboTax Desktop: If you used the software installed on your computer, you must open the specific program for that year (e.g., open the TurboTax 2024 app). Open your saved .tax file. Go to File > Print. In the print window, select the radio button for "All forms and worksheets." Choose "Save as PDF" to keep a digital copy with every detail.
I just called in, got on with a person in around a minute, and she walked me through how to fix it.   I ended up removing the 1099 Q and then manually deleting the associated worksheet.
