Thank you all for your responses.  The brokerage company put the dividend into my IRA, but there is no related 1099(R?) from the brokerage company to report this transaction.  My IRA was increased by this dividend amount as "cash deposit" that was lumped into one line item along with the company stock shares at their transferred price that said - [rollover contribution "name of company that I worked"].  Based on your responses, it looks that the best course is to report the dividend that shows on the 1099DIV as dividend on schedule B then?  And if I used the nominee distribution to adjust the dividend to zero on schedule B, am I supposed to send a 1099DIV form to the "actual owner", which would be the brokerage company, and also file a form 1096 with IRS?  I am kind of confused; the nominee distribution adjustment instruction (see below) appears to say I need to send a form to the "actual owner".   "A 1099-DIV nominee is an individual who receives dividend income in their name, but the income belongs to someone else (e.g., joint accounts, trust, or inherited property). The nominee must report the total, then deduct the portion belonging to others as a "Nominee Distribution" on Schedule B. The nominee must issue a new Form 1099-DIV (by Jan 31) to the actual owner and file it with the IRS using Form 1096 by Feb 28 (Mar 31 if e-filed)."

The OBBBA doesn't have much to say about your co-op apartment one way or the other.  So you're good on that front.   When you make an improvement to your rental property the improvement should be depreciated as a separate asset.  So a new roof creates an asset called "New Roof" and gets depreciated for 27.5 years starting the day that it is put into service.   If you decide to expense an improvement because it is less than $2500 or something then it is a one-time expense, it doesn't effect your basis at all.   The de minimus thing is good going forward.  No need to worry about it any more.   Keep on keeping on @KathyF
Thank you! This information is very helpful!

Sorry--no -- that is not deductible.  Only losses that are the result of a federally declared disaster can be deducted.

Some have received a message from Charles Schwab saying downloads would be enabled on Feb 27th.   This is not an Intuit issue, this is due to changes in browser(Chrome, Edge, Firefox) security updates.    If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.   To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings: Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL. Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu. Toggle the switch to ON. Refresh the page and attempt your import again. If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play: Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements. Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back. Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser. Helpful TurboTax Articles: What if I can't import my 1099? How can I fix my 1099 import issue? How do I import my 1099s? I was attempting to import my financial investment data from Charles Schwab, but I was having the same issues for days where the data would not import even though I would receive a message saying it was successful.  I did the following steps for several attempts: I confirmed that my Charles Schwab files were available on or after 2/13 I enabled Third Party access on my Charles Schwab account In Turbo Tax I performed Import from Charles Schwab account to my Turbo Tax Desktop application I Was taken to a website, in Google Chrome, my default browser, that asked for login information. It showed that it was connected and downloading data, then said successfully completed and to go back to my Turbo Tax desktop software application to continue When I went back to Turbo Tax, it didn’t show any data and only allowed me the option to skip import or try to import again. I did this for several days.    I then cleared my Google Chrome cache/browsing history and it finally worked.

It depends. The loan or line of credit must be used to buy, build, or substantially improve your home. This requirement began with tax year 2018. In other words you could not have used the loan money for something other than your home. For more details and information use this link: Can I deduct interest on my HELOC? If you qualify, you will enter it under Deductions & Credits under mortgage interest even though you do not have a 1098 form.

That is interesting. There are different factors that could be causing this calculation difference.   I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:   TurboTax Online:   Sign into your online account. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.” This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.   TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:   Open your return. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent” * This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us. Please provide the Token Number  (including the dash) that was generated in the response.   *(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)

This experience was reported to the development team and corrected in the update released February 13, 2026. Please restart TurboTax Business, allow all updates, and print your forms again. You may also try opening the PDFs using the Chrome browser or Adobe Acrobat.   If you are still unable to print your CT fiduciary return, it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2025" file that is experiencing this issue. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:    Open your return and go to Online in the top menu, then choose "Send Tax File to Agent." You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number. Reply to this thread with a screenshot of your Token number (this avoids Community filters for numbers with a dash) and tag (@) the Expert requesting the token from you. Please include any States that are part of your return - this is VERY important.   We will attempt to determine the cause of your experience and possibly provide you with a resolution.   @jwc2000
