I did all those things. Even a Turbo Tax Rep shared my screen and saw that the software was not updating my information that I input. As a result, it was not calculating the $7,000 credit for the air conditioner system. I deleted the form and started all over again. I went to online several times and hit the update button several times on various days. When will this form be updated for desktop? I would like to file our taxes. Thank you.
Is your spouse using the Standard Deduction or Itemizing Deductions? You both must do the same.

Using Desktop version and note for the calculation of QBI, TT is using: (Taxable income minus (standard deduction + OBBBA)) * 20%. OK, so that's correcvt when using the taxable income method of calculation. But the OBBBA is supposed to be an *extra* deduction and is not part of my self-employment income. If the QBI is calcualted the other way  (based on net SE income), the OBBBA is not a factor and my 20% QBI is thus much higher. I get that TT is selecting the lesser 20% of the two calculations, but this is obviously not correct if the OBBBA is excluded.  Is this an error?    MTIA

It depends. If you want a blank Form 1065-K1, you can print one from the IRS website. The information must be entered into your tax return through the K-1 entry so the income and/or deductions are carried to the appropriate location on your Form 1040, and/or schedules.   Please update with more details and we can be of further assistance.
Issues still are not fixed.  See other post for details.

There is a process on investigating and correcting software issues. This issue has entered the Investigation stage in which the issue is confirmed and test case set up. The next step is to pass that to the development team for correction. There is no ETA yet on the rollout of a fix.

To move your TurboTax data from Windows 10 to Windows 11, you only need to transfer your tax data files, not the program itself. You cannot "transfer" the installed software; you must install a fresh copy on your new Windows 11 device.   You are looking for files with the extension. tt24 (for 2024 taxes) or . tt25 (for 2025). The Data File: This contains all your tax info. It usually looks like YourName.tt25. The PDF Copy: If you saved a PDF version for your records, it will look like YourName.pdf.    You can also transfer all previous year data files.    Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

If you have fairly simple Forms 1099-INT, you may wish to enter them directly rather than importing.   If you imported a tax statement, such as Form 1099-INT, and received a "Success" message, but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it may be due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.   To fix this you can allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings:   Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL. Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu. Toggle the switch to ON. Refresh the page and attempt your import again. If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play:   Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February or later due to complex reporting requirements. Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back. Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser.     Here are some helpful TurboTax Articles:   What if I can't import my 1099? How can I fix my 1099 import issue? It's very unlikely that the Timeshare sale can allow you to claim a loss.  In order to claim a loss, the Timeshare would have needed to have been used as a business item, either used as lodging for your business or as an investment only. This last option would require that you never used it personally and you never used it as a rental.    As a business item, the sale would be reported on Your Schedule C as a sale of business asset.    Personal item sales cannot result in a loss.   HERE is a link that may explain more.

Yes, in most cases, child care expenses are claimed by the parent with the lower net income. Only in specific situations can the higher income claim the expenses. While filing your tax return, there is no initial claimer; you need to indicate the percentage of the amount to claim under your wife's tax return, as shown in the screenshot below:     To know more about the Child Care Expenses deduction, you can refer to this link: T778 Tax Form: Child Care Expenses Deduction    Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
Can I please have someone from Turbo Tax respond to this question.  Thanks

You can't file a 1099-NEC in Quick Employer Forms in the amount of $0. The least amount that can be entered in box 1 is $.50. The quickest way to file a corrected 1099-NEC for $0, is to use the IRS website or download the form and instructions to complete by hand. Form 1099-NEC is used to report Nonemployee Compensation, this income is considered self-employment.  If you are doing this work with the intend to make a profit then you would report this as self-employment income on Schedule C.  You can claim any expenses that were related to this income.     To enter your Form 1099-NEC in TurboTax: Sign in and open or continue your return. Search for 1099-NEC and select the Jump to link. Answer the questions and continue through to enter the information from your form. If you have multiple 1099-NECs to enter, you can select +Add Another 1099-NEC on the 1099-NEC Summary screen. When you’re done, we’ll ask you a few questions and help you through entering any expenses you may have so that you can reduce your taxable income.   What's a 1099-NEC? DID YOU E-FILE?   Did you e-file?   Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”     When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted  or rejected your federal e-file.  If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.   Check your e-file status:   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/    What does it say in your account?  Does it show that the return was accepted?   Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”

If these numbers are important if I get audited, then why does TurboTax not explain them, nor does the TurboTax GuideMe format ask for the information? Why have I been able to use TurboTax for decades with a foreign tax credit -- and form 1116 -- without this ever being flagged as an error?   If the numbers are important, then why, if I play around and change both numbers to numbers large and small, do the answers not propagate anywhere else in my tax situation?   I suspect that TurboTax does not think these numbers apply to me, a lowly mutual fund investor with a modest, approximately $2K, foreign tax credit. But the error comes as a divide by zero error during the SmartCheck.    So is SmartCheck smart but the GuideMe is broken? Or is SmartCheck not so Smart?
