This has been an ongoing issue as reported in other threads, such as: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/state-taxes/discussion/unable-to-download-state-within-turbotax-business-2024/00/3484663/page/2    As far as I can tell, it happens with all states.  At least five different state downloads have reported this issue.   The only successful workaround is to call TurboTax customer service and ask them to manually purchase the state business download.   I had this exact same issue, spent almost an hour on the phone with TurboTax customer support (even after telling them exactly how to resolve it), and finally got the manual purchase performed.  TurboTax then recognized that the state package had been purchased and downloaded it.  Problem solved.
The entry place in the federal section is for distributions (withdrawals) from  a 529 plan, not contributions to a 529 plan.

There is no federal tax credit for being a waitress. Are you looking for the deduction for tips? It's on Schedule 1-A, not Form 1040. Your tips should be shown in box 7 of your W-2. After you enter your W-2 with the tips in box 7, TurboTax will ask you some questions to determine whether you are eligible for the deduction for tips. It will then calculate the amount of the deduction that you qualify for. There are 4 different deductions on Schedule 1-A. One of them is the deduction for tips, which is on Schedule 1-A line 13. All 4 deductions are added together and the total goes to Form 1040 line 13b. If you don't have any of the other 3 deductions, Form 1040 line 13b will be your deduction for tips.
Same thing happened to me. TT said it would be updated 2/13/26 and I could resubmit then. I resubmitted and it was rejected again. So frustrating! How many times will they allow it to be rejected?

No, this is a required entry if you'd like the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (EEHIC). If you cannot locate the QMID on your invoice, your contractor should be able to provide it to you.   If you don't want the credit, you can delete the form by going to Tax Tools on the left of your screen, then Tools, then select Delete a form.  Choose the trash can next to 5695.

The form you received appears to have printing errors, which resulted in jumbled text.   What does "Desc- Non 1099-MISC" mean? "Desc" stands for Description. "Non" is short for Non-employee. "Misc" is an abbreviation for Miscellaneous. This means you were issued a 1099-MISC form because you aren't an employee of the business that sent it to you.   You should enter the 1099-MISC in the corresponding section of TurboTax. After entering the form, the program will prompt you to begin a Schedule C, which lets you to‌ deduct any expenses related to this income.

@vgallogl , before answering with any degree of specificity, I would need a few answers ( to understand the situation): 1.Are you each/both US person ( citizen/GreenCard) ? 2. If  the answer is  "Resident for Tax purposes"  , then which country are you from ?  Did your visa expire ?  How long were you here for ?   3. When did you enter NZ ?  4. Do you have significant connection to the US -- own home etc. ? Generally, as a US person you are taxed on world income.   However, if you entered  NZ, say July1st of 2025, then  your foreign sojourn / tax-home begins on the first full day  i.e. probably July 3rd 2025 ( local date /time ).  In such a case you would be best served by delaying your filing of US taxes  after you complete  12 months of stay -- you can then exclude  your foreign earnings from US taxes -- FEIE -- Foreign Earned Income Exclusion.   There are more "ands", "ifs" and 'buts".  First please answer my questions and I will come back and help.   pk

turbotax desktop calculated my taxes and listed an estimate penalty of $9 on line 38 of my 1040 form. I have tried everything I can think of and all the online helps to determine how turbo tax calculated that estimated penalty but I can find nothing.  No worksheet, no form in the print forms section, etc.   How does turbotax determine this penalty?   I am pretty sure the penalty is a result of a schedule K-1 estate income my wife received earlier in the year (and neglected to mention) from her parents estate.  I presume an estimated tax payment was due by a certain date and of course it wasnt paid by that date (since I was unaware of the estate income).     How exactly does turbo tax determine this penalty?  How do I know if its correct?  Since line 38 states its an estimated penalty, does that mean it could increase(or decrease) after filing?   It would seem to me that a worksheet or form of some sort should have been generated detailing how the estimated penalty was calculated but I can find nothing in the forms.

No, his income is not to be included in the reconciliation.  The IRS instructions for 8962 state you don't include a dependent’s income if that dependent is not required to file a federal tax return. If his only income was wages less than $15,750, he wasn't required to file a return.   You can double check the filing thresholds here: At What Income Does a Minor Have to File an Income Tax Return?

In TurboTax Online you have to use a separate account for each taxpayer (or married couple). A TurboTax Online account can only be used for one tax return.
