The $600,050 applies to all of your income.  So if your total taxable income with the sale of the home was greater than $600,050, then the amount above that would be taxed at the 20% rate instead of the 15% rate. The 20% rate only applies to the amount above $600,050.  Below that it would be taxed at 15% and 0% according to the brackets.    If your MAGI is over $250,000, but your taxable income is below $600,050, then it is possible that you are seeing an effective tax rate on this of 18.8% instead of 20% due to the Net Investment Income tax of 3.8%.  This is based on your Modified Adjusted Gross Income.    Was this home ever a rental?  If so, then you may also be seeing a tax on the recapture of depreciation which is 25% for real estate.  Look at your Schedule D worksheet, Capital Gains and Qualified Dividends worksheet to see for sure how you are being taxed and the rates that are being applied.

Did the IRS website for the status of a federal tax refund indicate that the refund was issued? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds   Did you request to have your TurboTax account fees paid from your federal tax refund?   If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return. For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/ Tax Products Group Contact Information - https://help.sbtpg.com/hc/en-us/articles/230084587-Contact-Information Call 1-877-908-7228 Or email - TPG-CSsupport@greendotcorp.com

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.
How do I get a refund for the five-day early pay?

What sort of problem are you experiencing? If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play: Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements. Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back. Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser. Helpful TurboTax Articles: What if I can't import my 1099? How can I fix my 1099 import issue? How do I import my 1099s? How do I enter a large number of stock transactions in TurboTax?   If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.   To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings: Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL. Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu. Toggle the switch to ON. Refresh the page and attempt your import again.

@dmn1948 Could you please post a link to the IRS clarification you mentioned? For me, the specific issue is that Line 2a of Schedule 1-A of Form 1040-SR states: "Enter any income from Puerto Rico that you excluded" This implies that any tax-free income realized by mutual funds from their investements in Puerto Rico obligations and excluded from income on Line 2a of Form 1040-SR should be included on Line 2a of Schedule 1-A. But TT does not do it.

@Don-TT @DawnC @JamesG1 Be very careful. As of today, TT Desktop Premier has a serious bug related to data imports. Say you already have two 1099s in your data file. Call them 1099A and 1099B. You already made some changes to 1099A - for example updated a stock's tax basis. Now your  financial institution revises 1099B and you go to import ONLY the revised 1099B again. As of today TT does not allow you to do this. It will either DELETE the existing 1099A and the existing 1099B, or not import anything. Lots of discussion in other forums, many people up in arms about this behavior and no fix from TT yet. Several suggestions from TT 'experts' are well intentioned but none of them are relevant or applicable. As of today, the only way is to MANUALLY update the revised 1099B and NOT USE the TT data import a second time.
