Depreciation and Amortization for rental properties is still not working 2/14/26   This is getting really late.  I need to move forward with my work load.  I’m really feeling trapped by this lack of transparency by TTax on when this will be functional.

Wow, I never saw a screen like that.  MarilynG1 (employee tax expert) had posted that you could enter room and board if you indicated that part of the scholarship went to room and board.  But I put in the amount of the spring scholarship (which could have been applied to dorm in spring) and still didn't see all these other expenses in your screen shot.  And the problem was that our student's full year room and board exceeded her scholarships for the year.   I finally filed last night after putting room and board on the People worksheet and seeing it transferred to the Student info worksheet where our 529 distributions (which were less than total educational expenses) were subtracted so our 529 distributions weren't taxable.   One thing that tripped me up in filing was the new IP PIN.  TT had filled in those fields for the two of us, so I assumed they were correct, but they were old ones that we'd chosen, not ones (randomly) generated by the IRS.  So I looked in my tax folder (paper) and found one I'd printed, but had no date on it, it turned out to be the one I used to file last year, so I had to log in to the irs.gov website with ID.me authentication and get one for this year and so did my husband.  There was a field for our dependent student's on the TT form, thank goodness it didn't ask for hers, but I'm sure she will need one to file her return to get back what was withheld from her summer and part time jobs.

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted? Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.   You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".   After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.   Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.  Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.   To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product. If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...
It's not like people just started going to college or using 529 plans this year!  I can't believe Turbotax can't figure this out!

No.  Amending a tax return in itself does not trigger an audit.   See this IRS website for audits - https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/irs-audits
Desktop version will not allow me to purchase a 2nd state. It states try again or check back in a bit. Same error occurs every time I try to purchase 2nd state.

Thanks for the answer.    I tried using Chrome as usual by setting it as default but it still failed. The import was critical as I had too many transactions to make it undesirable to enter details manually.   The bright side was I got an email from Schwab that an updated 1099-B will be provided and the previous erroneous one might be the reason for the failed import.   I will keep everyone posted.

You can request a refund for your Intuit product here: https://accounts.intuit.com/app/oirr   H&R Block posts a schedule at this link with a clear indication that Form 4562 will be available on 2/27: https://www.hrblock.com/tax-software/updates-back-editions/federal-forms-available/  (I doubt the above link will work by the way. Intuit seems to engage in link-sanitizing -- they won't allow a functional URL to a competitor to exist on their forum. You can use Google to find H&R Block's schedule if needed).   Intuit also posts this information at this link, but they outline that Form 4562 is ready now, when it clearly is not:  https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg    I appreciate H&R Block's transparency and after watching this forum for the last two weeks, it was enough for me to make the switch this year.
FreeTaxUSA uses purchase date - see screenshot.  FeeTaxUSA defines purchase date as the date you took possession of the car.  Acquisition date is not referenced at all.

I have to amend an amended return due to a small error ($1,000 underreported) in foreign-earned income (passive on investments). Is this difficult to do? Will it most likely trigger an audit?
