The series of equal periodic payments (SEPP) is addressed in TurboTax. If you enter a Form 1099-R with a code of "1" in box 7, indicating an early withdrawal penalty, you will be asked later if you get periodic payments from the retirement plan on the screen that says Annuity Information. Later, on the screen that says These Situations may Lower Your Tax Bill, one of the options is to enter your distribution amount from Equal Periodic Payments. Entries on those screens will identify your distributions as SEPP and you won't be penalized on the early distributions.

Are you saying that you have reported an incorrect qualified overtime deduction when entering your IRS form W-2 into the software?   If you have reported an incorrect qualified overtime deduction when entering your IRS form W-2 into the software, your next step depends upon the status of your Federal income tax return.   If you have not electronically filed your tax return and your tax return has not been accepted by the IRS, you may return to the W-2 to correct the entry.   In TurboTax Online, follow these steps.   Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal. Down the left side of the screen, click on Wages & Income. Click the down arrow to the right of Wages & Salaries. If you have electronically filed your tax return and your tax return has been accepted by the IRS, you are not able to return to your tax return.  The tax return will have to be amended.   Federal amended tax returns will be available mid-February.  See this TurboTax Help.

You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it.  It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner.  The IRS does not allow you to take it back.   If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.”  The changes will go nowhere.   Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return.  If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.     If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund.  THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail  it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally.  You will need to use a form called a 1040X.     Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself.  Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed   The Form 1040X you need becomes available in late February,  But wait until your return has been processed.

ok so 2 returns.  Online will only let you prepare and file a single return per account - whether you e-file or print it doesn't matter.  That offer to switch from desktop will only be good for 1 return.   For the 2nd return you'd need to set up a second account for TT Online to file that, and pay depending the complexity and forms needed there is the Free version or Deluxe or Premium (under DIY). https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/compare/online/   You can also try Online out a bit, you should be able to sign on and put in some information and see if you like it, you will just a reach a point where you will need to pay (or use the desktop license) to see the full return and do final edits and review etc.  It will also start to tell you which version you need as you input more stuff and trigger more forms.   If you're planning to get Win 11 anyway because ESU expires in October unless MS extends it, if you have multiple returns and want to just keep the desktop process the same, you may find that an easier approach rather than switching to online and maybe back to desktop in the future; but some don't like the added pressure of upgrading just for taxes.  Turbotax is still pushing out a lot of updates for the 2025 changes so unless you're in a rush to file you have some time - I'm not touching anything til late Feb.   Your other options in the desktop arena are HR Block and TaxAct which are still supporting Win 10 this year.

If you filed a joint return for 2024, the AGI on line 11 of that joint return shows the AGI for both of you.   When it asks for your spouse's AGI, use that same amount.

When I logged in this morning it briefly showed the correct information, so I had a second of false hope before it reverted back to this garbage. I don't understand why Turbo Tax doesn't openly admit there is a problem and let everyone know they are working on it. Keeping quiet about it is surely going to drive everyone to use a different provider next year.    Also, there seems to be a difference those talking to a Turbo Tax rep and those talking to a Tax expert. The tax experts seem to be the ones telling us we have offsets whereas the Turbo Tax reps, with time and arguing, seem to finally be conceding there is a problem.

To add to the previous post:   I experimented with a hypothetical tax return varying the WITHHOLDING amounts to confirm entry into the Actual Withholding thread.  This hypothetical return did have reported ESTIMATED tax payments included.   In summary:   If your total reported withholding (from W2, 1099-R, etc.) < $0.50* - yes 50 cents - then you WILL NOT be presented the TurboTax Actual Withholding input display.   If your total reported withholding (from W2, 1099-R, etc.) ≥ $0.50* - yes 50 cents - then you WILL be presented the TurboTax Actual Withholding input display.   * - The $0.50 amount is consistent with the IRS rounding rules.
