Seriously, it's comical. If you missed the Depreciation section, that's on you. That is why Turbo lists all categories as you conduct your deductions. I've used the Depreciation section for rental for years as has my dad on his rental without any issue, so I would say it's more you failed to review the sections.

It sounds like there may be a calculation or form mapping error in TurboTax’s Idaho Form 40. You should contact TurboTax Support and request a state return review — they can check if the form logic needs an update. You can also manually compare your filed return with Idaho’s official Form 40 instructions to confirm how Lines 11, 16, 17, and 19 should calculate.

Unfortunately, once you have upgraded or added features to your TurboTax return, there is no way to downgrade or remove the extra features. You would need to create a new return to go back to the original product.    To start a new return, select “Start a New Return” from under “My Returns” in the bottom left corner. Once you have started your new return, you can select “View All Returns” from under “My Returns”. Then delete the unwanted return by clicking the small Trash Can next to it or “Delete” under the return’s name.

@JohnQT if you're on LTSC for the long term and this type of solution ends up working for you that's great, just pointing out the major support caveat for other folks hoping this is a path to put off Win 11 for a few months.  There was a steady flow of issues last year in this forum throughout tax season with installation, import, blank forms, updates etc that needed that support, hopefully 2025 will be more stable but we'll see.
You can file quarterly taxes by selecting “Quarterly Estimated Taxes” under your tax settings. To change the year, go to the tax year dropdown or settings > tax year, and select 2025 instead of 2024.
The return i filed still took the money I had owed and said my taxes were completed for both state and federal so I am very confused.

I spoke with Customer Care last week from Office of the President on a different matter and asked about the ItsDeductible retirement, they said it was retired because only 100k people were using the service (vs. 40mil users in the Turbotax universe) so given the cost to maintain they decided to finally retire it.  This guy was even using it for free: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/irritated-no-more/00/3709894   They're expecting some small % of user loss from the Win 10 and ItsDeductible decisions but high revenue online and other areas of their $20bn behemoth like mailchimp are growing 8-10% and that's what investors care about.   The October date was because this is their only window between 2024 extension e-filing closing and 2025 opening to make major changes to their online platform and remove services they are not supporting next year.   There are already 5 different app startups rushing to fill this space (Deductible Duck, Deductib.ly, Deductit.io, Deductible.ai, Kebab - plus full tax packages like H&R Block) at different stages of development - some are already able to import the data you saved from ItsDeductible, Duck seems ahead of the game and posts here frequently - but none have a working Turbotax import yet claiming that will come in 2026 but we haven't seen the 2025 Turbotax release yet (see below from Dave at Duck).  I'd be a little wary jumping onto a particular solution until functionality and ongoing cost is a bit clearer but you can probably try some of them out for free and see what happens in the coming months.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/re-an-alternative-to-itsdeductible/01/3708354#M1372215

AmeliesUncle,   Thanks for your reply, that was short and to the point.    I will need to see about amending my 2023 return as I sold a vehicle in the fall of that year and, because it was not a business asset and sold at a loss, I thought the tax would be a wash or at least a non-issue. Nieve, I know but any other advice you might be willing to offer to get straight on this tax issue? Thanks. Mudbug61

@M-MTax  In my case the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 edition installed on my PC has an Extended Support end date of Jan 13, 2032.  So I have at least six more years of Windows 10 support from Microsoft on this hardware.  I'm not just kicking the can down the street for one more year of Windows 10.  But Intuit made a brain-dead decision to stop supporting Windows 10 period, apparently unaware (or not caring) that not everyone is running Home edition on their PC...   Seriously, at this point it's obvious that Intuit really doesn't want to support their desktop products on any version of Windows.  They probably should have just yanked the band-aid off and stopped selling desktop products altogether.  They've already ticked off enough of their desktop user base, might as well get the pain over with sooner rather than later...  🤥

@baldietax  I don't plan on "hacking Turbo to run on Win 10".  Nor do I plan to "hack" Windows 10 to make it look like Windows 11.  I just want to have a look at what TurboTax is doing to determine that it's running under Windows 11.  It might be so foolishly simple that a workaround could hardly be called a hack.  Again, Intuit will likely take the cheapest route possible to "enforce" their requirement for Windows 11, which is usually the easiest to implement (and workaround).   Also, I seriously doubt that Intuit will spend any money to add any functionality to their desktop product that requires features which are exclusive to Windows 11.  So there shouldn't be "any issues during your tax process with updates, forms, e-filing etc"   You are correct though that Intuit can simply refuse customer service if a support log shows anything that indicates that TurboTax is not actually running under Windows 11.  In that event we could do an in-place upgrade to Windows 11 if that's what it takes to get support from Intuit.  But as several others have pointed out here, in many cases that can be done without having to resort to purchasing a new PC.   In any case I simply won't let myself be driven by Intuit or Microsoft to spend money for a new PC when there's absolutely nothing wrong from a security standpoint with my current hardware.  I'll migrate to Linux and do my taxes on PDF forms if that's the only way to get out from under their corporate enforced "rules".
