I too am a Virgin Islands self-employed businessperson. I've used TurboTax for years, overriding to remove the self-employment tax from my 1040 and filing a 1040-SS separately for self-employment tax. The problem is that it's more difficult every year to override the self-employment tax from the 1040.  Intuit should address this! It's also a hassle to set up estimated payments for the following year, as withholding and FICA are filed separately, to VI and IRS. Any ideas for how to remove the SE tax from the 1040 for 2025 taxes?

if you only paid 3k in tax in 2024 that's your safe harbor for 2025...   check form 2210 ... you need to have paid thru withholding or estimated tax, the smaller of - 100% of 2024 tax (110% if AGI > 150k or 75k if filing MFS), or 90% of 2025 tax.   if that's the case then you don't owe any more estimated tax, in fact you've probably overpaid estimated tax quite a bit.   you should be able to see this in TT already - even if you can't input your ES in deductions & credits but you have all the income in, what penalty are you seeing on Form 1040 Line 38?  In forms mode go to Open Form and search for 2210 and it will show the calcs (sometimes hidden if it's not part of filing by default).   As for the deductions & credits not sure what else to suggest other restarting, clicking around in the app etc - you should be able to get to the page where you can go thru each topic individually - some of those may be blocked off pending updates, but the section as a whole should not.  this can also happen if you select "Visit All" and one of the topics in that subsection is blocked, rather than going topic by topic.

The “senior deduction” is added automatically by the software based on the date of birth and filing status you entered into MY INFO.  You do not need to take any extra steps to enter it. (And…the new senior deduction has nothing to do with whether you are getting Social Security)     2025 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS SINGLE $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind + $2000) MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind +1600) MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $31,500  (65 or older/legally blind + $1600) HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $23,625 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)     For 2025 through 2028 there is an extra  deduction amount of up to $6000 per individual 65 or older filing Single, MFJ, or HOH which is phased out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.   (The deduction phases out completely at $175.000 Single or HOH, or $250,000 joint)   The $6,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b. It is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e.  Turbo Tax automatically includes it. I just updated the program this morning.  Where are you seeing that it is supposed to be available today?  It's the only section in the whole program that is still saying available soon.
After you are signed in, click on Documents (under Tax Home) and see if your imported documents are there.

Why do you think it was already imported?   Did you get a marketing email that said it is ready?   You received a message from Marketing.  Marketing does not really know if your W-2 is available now.  They just want your business.   TurboTax does not have your W-2.   W-2’s come from employers.  There is not a federal or national website that provides W-2’s.   If your employer is partnered with TurboTax to allow the W-2 data to be imported into the software you can do that---but you need the actual W-2 so that you can enter the EIN and the amount from box 1 to import the other data from the W-2---which just saves you the little bit of keying in of the other information.   W-2's come from your employer, and they have until January 31 to issue it.  Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it. Some employers have payroll sites that will have your W-2. You might need to phone, text, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.     Every 2025 W-2 that you received must be reported on your 2025 tax return, even if they are for small amounts.  Remember that each one of those W-2’s has your Social Security number on it, and that income was reported to the IRS by the employer.  You do not want trouble with the IRS for under-reporting your income or have your refund delayed by having missing income.   ALL of your W-2’s must be entered on the SAME tax return.     Go to Federal>Wages & Income to enter a W-2. After you enter the first one, you click Add Another W-2.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-forms/get-copy-w-2/L8FTim9MO_US_en_US?uid=m68ee4os   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/import-enter-w-2/L55HzdeDr_US_en_US?uid=m68efe36

overrides prevent e fiing. Check your answers for the questions about the property. One wrong answer and the credit will be denied. There are 4 questions which must be answered yes if true, and then you must select the property county from the dropdown. The full PIN must be entered if not proforma'd from last year. One other limitation is that the credit cannot exceed your tax liability before the credit.

I'm having the same difficulty as several other folks importing 1099s from Vanguard in Premier.  Chrome browser, Windows 11, message "Success! We got your tax data. You can now return to TurboTax."  But, no data has actually been imported.  It's pretty clear the software developers need to have a look at this.

I have done the wizard over and over again. I say yes I was covered DEC 1st in 2024. I fill out the fields for every month which say self coverage. Yet somehow it is not reporting that correctly as seen in the images above. I work in IT and I’m not dense to these things. This is not user error. I will post screenshots of my selections if necessary.    2024 also happens to be the one year I filed outside of turbotax, but I don’t think that’s relevant here.
When does the additional deduction for seniors 65 years old married filing jointly show on your return?
