1099 forms come from the payors.  So contact your banks, brokerage firms, pension administrators, SSA, etc. for them.   I suggest you take a look at your 2023 tax returns and see what income you had to make sure you have all of your 2024 1099 forms.   You should also be able to log into your IRS account (create one at www.irs.gov if you don't already have one) and download your 1099s under "Wage and Income".  Since your tax return is now delinquent, you should do that ASAP.   This is from Microsoft Co-Pilot:   To download your 1099 and W-2 forms from the IRS, follow these steps: Request a Transcript: You can obtain a wage and income transcript by using Form 4506-T. This transcript includes the federal tax information reported to the SSA. You can order it online or by mail.    Contact Your Employer: If you e-filed your tax return or did not attach your W-2, contact your employer for a copy. They will submit the W-2 to the SSA, which then sends it to the IRS.    Use the IRS Online Tool: You can also use the IRS's online transcript tool to request your wage and income transcript. This requires identity verification.    Check IRS Processing Times: The IRS typically processes requests for transcripts within 10 business days, but it may take up to 75 days for tax returns to be mailed.    For more detailed instructions, you can visit the IRS website or contact their support.

I know TurboTax 2024 is still Intel code. So it's slow and takes longer to launch and needs more memory than a universal binary release would be. Apple told developers to start making U2B applications back in mid-2020, and they have ignored that. macOS 27 released next year will not run on Intel and will not offer Rosetta 2 support. So I'm hoping that TurboTax 2025 will finally be Universal Binary 2. But I'm guessing Intuit doesn't care, and TurboTax 2026 also won't be Universal or Apple Silicon and they will just selling to all the modern Mac users.

Hi there,   Thank you so much for the opportunity to join this community forum. I truly appreciate it.  I have a problem that I really need your help. My husband and I separated back in 2023. He lives in US while I live in Canada.  I put married as marital status in my income tax for 2023 and 2024 same as my husband. But, later this year he changed his income tax for 2023 and 2024 for the address from Canadian address to his US address by submitting T1 adjustment. And because of that, CRA right now asked me to return the child benefits I received from 2023 until now. So, right now I am reaching out to you to help me fix this issue. What should I do so I don't need to return the child benefits, because it's more than 10K and I don't have that money since I am not working at this moment? Could you please help me fix this issue? I am really grateful for your attention and help. I truly appreciate it.  I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.    Sincerely,    DP

Is your Single Member LLC set up as an S Corp?   If yes then post back.   If you are not a S Corp it is a disregarded entity and you file it on Schedule C as self employment in your personal 1040 tax return.  You can deduct a Net Loss against your other income.      To report your self employment income you will fill out schedule C in your personal 1040 tax return and pay SE self employment Tax.  Here's a Schedule C  https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040sc.pdf   You can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to Premium or use any of the Desktop CD/Download programs.
I started a small business (single member LLC) and made just under $1,000 and spent maybe $2,000. I just want to make sure I file it correctly. What forms would I be using? Is there anything to know?

October 20, 2025,  Keela Robison, Vice President TurboTax [Updated10/27/2025] At Intuit, the security of your personal and financial data is our top priority. Today, we sent a reminder communication to our valued Windows 10 Desktop customers informing them that TurboTax Desktop personal software for tax year 2025 and beyond will require Windows 11 or future operating systems. At the same time, we communicated that TurboTax Desktop Windows 10 business editions would be available for one more year - tax year 2025, after which business customers will need to upgrade their operating system or switch to TurboTax Online. I wanted to share some context on those decisions. On October 14, 2025, Microsoft stopped providing updates, technical support, and security fixes for Windows 10. While they are offering a paid extended security updates (ESU) program for one year (for consumers), it will only cover critical and important updates (more info). Moreover, our analysis suggests that very few consumers plan to pay for the ESU program. Given that, we’ve made the decision to discontinue support for TurboTax Desktop personal software on Windows 10. While we expect business customers to adopt the ESU at much higher rates, we have reiterated in our communications that businesses should carefully consider and acknowledge the risks of using an unsupported operating system before installing TurboTax Desktop for Business on Windows 10. Thankfully, TurboTax customers have options. We know many of our customers have already upgraded to Windows 11. Additionally, our customers can always access TurboTax Online via any supported web browser (many web browsers will be supported on Windows 10, regardless of whether the extended security program is active) or on mobile devices (iOS, Android).  TurboTax Online offers many additional features beyond what is available on our desktop versions. To highlight just a few: This year, we’re offering many new ways to automatically bring in your tax documents into TurboTax Online, including uploading PDFs of 1099-B and 1099-Composite forms.  If you have Restricted Stock Units (employee stock grants) or Employee Stock Purchase Program sales that show a zero cost basis, TurboTax Online now automatically adjusts those using supplemental forms that you upload from E*TRADE or Fidelity (Schwab is already supported). Last year in testing, we found that this removed a lot of work – 50 clicks on average – and reduced our customers’ taxable income by $12K on average! We have an intelligent, personalized tax topic recommendation system that highlights topics you may have missed that will save you money. In our testing last year, this system improved tax outcomes by over 3.5% for our Deluxe and Premium customers. We have made it easy for our desktop customers to move to TurboTax Online and transfer their prior year tax information. Plus, we’re providing a special offer to our desktop customers: If you purchase TurboTax Desktop personal software for tax year 2025 and cannot install it because you have Windows 10, we have you covered. You will receive an in-product offer to switch to our TurboTax Online Premium service at no additional cost (includes one federal and one state return). We deeply value your loyalty to TurboTax, and we hope that we continue to earn your business for many years to come.

I received a very lame email from TurboTax today (Monday, October 20, 2025) that stated the following:   Thanks for letting us know about your issue with printing form 8582. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused. We’ve got a help article that we think will help you with this.   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/rental-property/irs-form-8582-calculating-passive-activity-losses-for-real-estate/c71Jm0iM7   If this doesn’t do the trick or there’s something else we can help you with, feel free to give us a call. That is a completely generic help article about IRS Form 8582 and obviously does not address the issue. What a joke response.   Thus, I just called TurboTax again (on October 20, 2025), and got transferred to the Resolutions Desk again. Even though minimal detailed reproduction steps were included with the original investigation request from this past Friday, October 17, 2025, and this community article was also referenced, the first investigation request was apparently closed because there was "not enough information to investigate the issue."   Therefore, I just had the agent submit a second investigation request, referencing the first investigation request, and reiterating almost everything that was already included in the first request in the exact format the investigation team requested.   So far, I have now spent 2.5 hours total (Friday: 1 hour; today: 1.5 hours) trying to get through TurboTax's procedural hoops just to even start a formal investigation of this issue, which is now way more time than it would have taken to simply complete the PDF of IRS 8582 page 3 manually. And this is on top of all the time spent by @Lani6 and @Rightfield.   You would think the TurboTax investigation team could actually spend 5 minutes reading investigation requests in full before rejecting them, but apparently, that is too much to ask. Customer time is valuable too and should not be disregarded when diligently reporting obvious issues with TurboTax software.

Yep, and I believe that's about the cutoff date for the Rufus upgrade (i.e., 2009 or later Intel CPU).   If the previous poster has a computer with an intel CPU prior to 2009, it's time for a new one anyway; these things don't last forever.

I have a 2009 Laptop that upgraded with the 23H2 - working fine. (Also upgraded to SSD) Just won't go any 11 higher, but does still update on every second Tuesday of the month, with updates compariable to it's hardware. I've seen some of these new computers under $1000 - essentially, a laptop in a box with an very useless power supply. Sata Power connector on motherboard with a proprietory connection that is next to impossible to find an adapter for. Have told several Brands if they're going to do that BS, then at least include the power connectors with the computer !  If the old computer is just working fine and it's in good condition, why not extend it's life with Windows 11 and  a new SSD. (Or leave on 10 if 11 not required)
