I am going to assume you earned income and paid taxes in MA but live somewhere else. If the tax paid is on a form - like the w2, MA and the tax will be listed. You always want to prepare your nonresident state first and the program will either automatically calculate the credit or ask questions about it. The credit will be the lower of the two states tax on the same taxable income- with differences in how tax is calculated and different tax rates. You can view your return to see if the credit is showing.   See: How do I preview my TurboTax Online return before filing?   If you would like to reply with more information - which state you live in and type of income or forms, and any other relevant information, we can be of more help.

I sold my PRIMARY home in 2025 and received a 1099-S showing the selling price of the house.  Information I have found on this form says it is used for the sale of land or second/rental house.  Do I need to file this form if I sold my Primary home and made less than $250,000 profit?

If you stored your .tax2024 file on a cloud-type environment, it may be corrupted and not transfer properly.  Look for a back-up copy with a tilde sign in Documents > TurboTax.   If you still have TurboTax for 2024, you could also try opening it, letting it update, and re-save your 2024 file for transferring.   @patronan
Thanks for the reply. Box 7 says "3-disability". There are numbers in boxes 1,4,5,9b, and 14.

@rxchem If you've entered something on your return that's not covered by TurboTax Do It Yourself (Online) then you'll need to upgrade to a product that does support what you need for your return, and you'll be charged the difference. This TurboTax Canada page shows you what each version of TurboTax Do It Yourself (Online) supports: https://turbotax.intuit.ca/tax/software/online   If you upgrade the product yourself, or add something like Assist & Review or the Premium Package, those would also be additional charges.   FYI: When preparing your return with your spouse, that counts as 2 returns.

Yes, as best I can tell, one of my kids filled something out a college based on some instructions he was given but never signed up.   So we never receive a form.   Regardless though, this is not the issue.   The TT software needs a patch ..... the entire program should not crash to the desktop when transmitting returns, for any reason.   This needs to be fixed asap.   I have been a loyal TT customer for years but will be forced to use H&R Block if this is not resolved quickly.
