I received an email saying Form 5695 is now ready. I have updated TurboTax but it still won’t allow me to work on the credit saying it’s not available yet. Anybody else have this problem?
How old is the grandchild? If they are age 19 or older you cannot claim them as dependents since you did not provide over one-half of their support.  The city/county/state provided the support.

I tried to enter data into form 5695 in the home energy credits section and it says available soon. I selected the notify me when ready link and got an email saying the section/form is ready now and it is not working yet. I see no way to let TurboTax support know. Tried for two days now. Selected notify me when ready and they sent me auto email saying ready. So, appears they don't know it's not working.
The IRS will pull an e-filed federal tax return at random for system testing.  They do this every tax year in early January. The IRS will start accepting federal tax returns on 01/26/2026.

Delete  the Form 1099-R that you are trying to enter.  Then re-enter the Form 1099-R manually, that should correct the problem   Have entered two 1099-R's without any problems when entering the 9 digit FEIN.
I am having the same issue...will check for form availability over the weekend.
Yeah 700 score, and I always get the option except now. You guys arent offering it yet or this year....
Ran out of characters to use for my story so I had to bunch it together. Basically it’s been 1 week or 8 days since refilling and I have been accepted.

I used TurboTax for many years up until 2018 when I tried using another online Tax preparer until this current tax filing year (2025). I came back to TurboTax because they allow me to file my return using a non-US address since I now live in Italy. I signed in and used the Free Edition since I have no earned income (including no W-2, no dividends, no investment or rental income, etc). My only income is a small monthly private pension distribution which is not enough to exceed my standard deduction. So no taxes owed and no refund. Simple, easy return. Since 2017 I have had loss carry-forward info included on my sched. D return. This was from stock sales from almost 10 years ago. I have not bought or sold stocks since then however do not want to lose those loss carry-forwards in case I need them in the future. Am I able to enter that previous loss carry-forward information into TurboTax without having to upgrade to the premium edition of TurboTax? It seems quite a large amount of money to pay ($99 each year) just to report something from years back, especially considering I've had no stock sales since then.
Can’t import anything in the app but the browser is fine. I’ve tried reinstalling the app, signing out and signing back in, etc
Received Email that it was ready an it isn’t. Come on

"It is the plan administrator's responsibility to insure that RMD's are sent."   Only for employer plans like a 401(k), not for IRAs.  For IRAs it's the individual's responsibility to request the necessary distribution.   Retirement accounts are individual accounts, not joint accounts,  The tax return must include a Form 5329 for each individual who missed an RMD.  Each Form 5329 applies to a single individual.

As fanfare indicated, you are $2,000 short on your own traditional IRA RMD because distributions from the inherited IRA do not count toward the RMD on your own IRA.  You'll need to complete that RMD as soon as is practical, after which you can indicate that you made the corrective distribution within the correction period, reducing the penalty to 10%, $200, which you can request be waived for reasonable cause.  TurboTax provides the means to make the request.
@hessam78    Yep... Was supposed to be ready by now....but that update has apparently been delayed.   Probably mid-late next week, as a guess at this point.
