I am using 2024 Turbotax (TT) Home and Business for filing my returns. A few months ago, I use TT to file my 2024 amended tax return, using my original 2024 TT file. A few weeks ago, I received an IRS notice that "the column A of your amended return did not match our records". I checked Form 1040X, generated by TT and submitted to IRA. Found that the original AGI and itemized deductions  amounts in Form 1040X  are different from the original Form 1040 filed. Also Form 8962 Premium Tax Credit entries on amended Form1040X forms are different from the original returns. I did not make any change on this and so the changes are unexpected. Seems these are turbotax errors. Can someone from Turbotax pls advise? I have bought the Tax Defense. Should I contact them?

Hi do you have a list of CPA experts that are specialized in a settlement income that counts as income ( not personal injury).

I tried Tax Slayer and was able to enter my 1099-R information.  Turbo Tax is slipping in its old age and I have found that it is no longer reliable.

No, not for tax year 2025.  Charitable donations are entered as itemized deductions only. For tax year 2026, that is filed in 2027, a charitable donation can be made even if you do not itemize.

Since the IRS has not finalized all forms and instructions yet to reflect the new tax laws, your TurboTax is likely as up-to-date as possible.   You can use this link to reference when specific tax forms will be available. You can search by TurboTax Product and for IRS and state-specific forms.   Please note: If you start preparing your return now, be aware that the calculations made by the software may not be accurate and might change.    The IRS will begin accepting and processing 2025 tax returns on Monday, January 26, 2026.

I updated my desktop version and each item I selected said to go back to what I was working on.  I exited TT without saving and started it up again and it did not find any updates.  I used the manual update procedure.  But I still have issues with the donation section once the individual items were filled in not showing up on the main page.  When will TT 2025 Premier desktop windows 11 be fully updated?
I read we can now claim charitable contributions even if we do not itemize.  Is this accurate and are there any limitations?
when will turbo tax be available

You can only claim the Spouse or Common-Law Partner Amount (Line 30300) if you supported your spouse and their net income was below a specific threshold. The CRA does not care if he works for your daycare or not. The credit is based on his total net income from all sources (his separate job, investments, etc.).   If his income is below the threshold, the credit is calculated by taking the Basic Personal Amount and subtracting his actual net income. If his income is higher than the threshold, the credit is reduced to zero.   For the specific eligibility requirements and current year amounts, refer to the CRA's official page: CRA Line 30300 – Spouse or common-law partner amount   Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
