Turbo Tax doesn't have programs older than 3 years.  Even if you find one on Ebay or Amazon or somewhere you won’t be able to update it or download the state program.   You could try the TaxPrinter service (not connected with Turbo Tax) to convert a .tax file to pdf at http://www.taxprinter.com  They might be expensive.

When you phone the IRS customer service line, if you reach an AI triage robot, don't mention the word "refund," or you may get an automated reply.  Try using "account" as a key word.  For instance, say something like "speak to an agent about my account."  If it then asks you something else, say the same thing again, etc.  Finally, it may get tired and transfer you to an agent.   If you are unable to get good assistance from the IRS, we can tell you how to contact the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service, who are more likely to help you if you are having an economic hardship.    "About ready to give up on ever receiving it. "            No, you shouldn't give up.  If you are due a refund,  you should get it eventually.   It once took me until January (10 months) to get one, and for some people it takes longer than that.  But you do need to talk to the IRS to ask them what the issue is.   When I phoned them, the agent spent a lot of time looking at various things and once she spotted a possible holdup, was able to do something to help tweak it.  They are usually friendly and helpful, but it does sometimes take considerable effort to reach one.    As a last resort, when direct talk with IRS agent and Taxpayer Advocate Service failed to move things forward, some folks have had to seek assistance from their fed Congressman's local district office.

The actual Form 4562 that is filed with your return is just a Summary of the Depreciation for the current year and only lists out the new assets and not the prior the items. You may have a 4562 Depreciation and Amortization Report which does list all the items including fully depreciated items.  If you don't have the 4562 Depreciation and Amortization Report or need more info you need the Asset Life History. The history is only available in the Desktop program not the Online version. If you are using the Online version you would have to download your .tax2024 file and open it in the desktop program.

"Where I was getting hung up with Fidelity is they kept saying my rollover was not considered distributed but rather just rolled over into the Roth IRA. Terminology seems to be the culprit here. They also said the contributions & earnings within the Roth 401K would be transferred as well but it appears this should only apply if the funds in the Roth 401K were considered non-qualified which is not the case for me."   What they were likely saying is that the funds were not distributed to you.  It's still a reportable distribution from the Roth 401(k) and a rollover to the Roth IRA.  You can't have a rollover without a corresponding distribution.  The distribution from the Roth 401(k) indeed consisted of a pro rata mix of contributions and earnings, but the distinction is moot because the distribution from the Roth 401(k) was a qualified distribution.   I'm not sure what amount will appear in box 5 of the Form 1099-R but I suspect that it will only show the portion that was contributions, not the entire box 1 amount.  If that's the case, you'll have to adjust your Roth IRA contribution basis in TurboTax because TurboTax only uses the amount in box 5 of a code-H Form 1099-R as the automatic addition to basis.  However, in your case the entire amount rolled over became basis.  You would make this adjustment by adding to your cumulative basis for prior years the difference between box 1 and box 5.  An alternative would be when entering this Form 1099-R into TurboTax you enter into box 5 of TurboTax's 1099-R form the same amount as is in box 1.  Because there is no tax withholding on this form, the details of the form will not be included in your e-filing.  The entry in box 5 serves only to tell TurboTax the amount to add to contribution basis on its IRA Information Worksheet.  Still, I think it's preferable to not alter Form 1099-R values since there is another method that produces the correct result.   Hopefully you won't need to withdraw amounts from your Roth IRA before the Roth IRA 5-year qualification period has been completed, in which case your basis in the Roth IRA wouldn't matter.  Roth distributions used for obtaining spending money deplete funds that otherwise have the potential to enjoy tax-free growth.   "fact my Roth 401K is qualified does not seem to matter."   It does not matter with respect to how this distribution from the Roth 401(k) and its rollover to the Roth IRA is taxed.  Such a rollover is nontaxable whether or not it's qualified.   "Fidelity also says the rollover cannot be considered a contribution to the Roth IRA as if it was, then contribution limits would apply."   Fidelity seems to be saying that it's not an ordinary contribution.  It is indeed a rollover contribution and will be reported as such in box 2 of the Form 5498 for this Roth IRA.

TurboTax receives no information from the IRS after you file your return, nor will the IRS tell TT anything.   Once you file your return and the IRS accepts it, only the IRS is in control and only the IRS can give you information.   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday

E-Filed on 4/15/24. IRS accepted on 4/18/24. Haven't received a letter from the IRS or any other notifications at all. Checking it weekly since May. Has been stuck on "processing". I call the number but never get a person. Lost a month with the shutdown. Just the automated system that says a refund date will be posted when it becomes available. About a month away from filing the 2025 taxes. Not sure I want 2 refunds stuck in the system. About ready to give up on ever receiving it.

E-filing is permanently closed for 2024 returns.  The only way to file your 2024 return is to print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.      If you had some sort of mistake with a 1095A that you need to correct  (....marketplace and Cigna.."), you will need to use downloaded desktop software on a full PC or Mac.    You will be able to access the 2024 return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it.   But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.       Start a 2025  return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.   Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2024  returns is now permanently closed.    Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2024 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac  (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/printers-printing/finish-prior-year-return-started-turbotax-online/L9Oe4M90A_US_en_US?uid=m68tffpe   If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.   They are available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday - Friday   https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899263-what-is-the-turbotax-phone-number     If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late.  If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe.  Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.     When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

Who are "they" who said to look at your 2013 tax return, and why are "they" asking now, 12 years later? You would not have reported an inheritance on your tax return. An inheritance is not taxable income, and is not reported on your tax return. So even if you could look at your 2013 tax return, and you did get an inheritance, the inheritance would not be on the tax return. A tax professional can probably get a transcript of your 2013 tax return from the IRS, with your permission. A transcript lists the information from your tax return, but it is not an actual copy. Sorry---there is no deduction for gifting the money to your daughter.   Gifts given to family members, friends or other individuals are not deductible.   Gifts received are not taxable to the person who received the gift, and are not entered on a tax return.   If your gift exceeds the yearly limit ($19,000 per individual)  imposed by the gift tax rules, then you will need to complete a Form 709 gift tax form and send it to the IRS, although it is very unlikely that you will owe any tax.   TurboTax does not support Form 709.  It is not an income tax form and would not be included as part of an income tax return.   Here is a link to the form: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f709.pdf   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/estates/the-gift-tax-made-simple/L5tGWVC8N     Here's a link for Form 709 preparation software:  https://www.puritas-springs.com/product-category/federal

Does the IRS notice say that you should file an amended return? If not, follow the instructions in the notice for what to do. If you do need to prepare an amended return the following should help. How do I amend my federal tax return for a prior year? Mail the amended return to the address that the IRS notice says to send it to, not to the address that TurboTax gives you.
