What are the instructions to amend my taxes done through Turbotax: 1 - to add my two oldest grandchildren (now age 7 and 5) to my 2022 and 2023 taxes. 2 - to add my grandson to my 2024 taxes when I receive his SS#.   What will the IRS ask for to prove that they lived with me and that I financially provided for them the entire 12 months of each year?   What is the rule if the mother or my son lived with me but did not work or provide anything financially for the 3 children - that I provided financially for all 5 of them?   What are the repercussions if someone else fraudulently claimed them?
*IRS sending me a letter about why they think I did not qualify. Do I amend my return? What form or info. do I need to send in? Thanks for the help!

No one can see or access your tax return. Why do you ask?  Is there a problem?
I filed on 1/27 and got my refund on 4/16.
In Turbotax Home and Business, "various" is not an option in the dropdown.

Sometimes it takes longer, but there are a couple of things you should check:   To efile you have to go all the way to a final screen and clicked on a big orange button "Transmit My Returns Now."    Hopefully, you went all the way and did that. If so, then soon after you efiled, you should have received an email that the return had been submitted.  Did you get that email?  If necessary, also check your email's spam/junk folder.   You'll later get a second email about whether it was accepted or rejected.   If you used Online TurboTax, log in and at the Tax Home what is shown for the status of your efile?   It should indicate "pending" until it's either accepted or rejected.    What status is showing at the Tax Home?   Does it say "pending?"   ...IRS "says no record on file"         If you're referring to the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool, there won't be any evidence  in that tool until about 24 hours after you efiled return has been accepted for processing.   If you have an online IRS account, it, too, won't indicate anything yet.

So what’s happened? How long did it take to get your refund ?

There are much bigger issues with using T5008 slips to report Capital gains on non-Canadian stocks.  Hopefully when TurboTax gets around to fixing the bigger issue, it can improve it's user experience in entering T5008 information. The biggest pain is having to enter the same information for each and every T5008 slip.  One should be able to specify the use of all of the T5008 slips as Capital gain (not enter this dozens of times).  Same with the Spouse  percentages and a default disposition date. I no longer trade like I used to - in the past I must of had close to one hundred T5008 slips.  Back then I do not recall it being as bad.

I tried several ways, still could not find the question of "whether you materially participated" ?  Is there any way you could provide more info, e.g. several screenshots before that question showed up in turboTax software?   If you guys have a direct line I could call, that will speed things up a lot. My number is [phone number removed]. email: [email address removed].   Thanks.
